Cove Only Accessible By Boat
Not too many up and down! on such a hot day it is nice to visit a more flat town. Charming with the usual restaurants and shops. It would be a nice place to stay.

Vrbnik is an impressive medieval town, not featuring a main attractive but offering a complete old city center like a labyrinth with houses interconnected with small Bridges leading to the entrence, narrow old Copplestone roads and tiny houses.
You should take the time for a nice walk and enjoy the atmosphere in the city. For us the most beautiful town on the island
Highly recommended

We stayed there the last summer in a very comfortable apartment! The town is very nice and it's got different nice restaurant, in prticular we recommended Ciciabela restaurant on the seaside. From baska you can reach also the most beatiful Beaches of the island, like Vela Luka for example... the paths are awesome.

Quite an experience. The street is really awfully narrow, though I am not so sure about the record. Some other towns or cities also want to have the narrowest street in the world. (I was in Brasow, Rumania, some time ago, and they have one there). Nevertheless, do not miss this street if you visit Vrbnik.

Only 750 meters from Punat lies the islet of Kosljun. It is known for the Franciscan monastery. The islet has a museum with an ethnographic collection. The monastery also owns a rich zoological collection of a large seashell and unique animal specimens, such as the one-eyed lamb. The monastery also has a rich library with around 30,000 titles. It includes the Ptolemy's atlas printed in Venice in 1511 (one of the three preserved copies). The monastery is a zero category monument.
Situated on a smal islet in Punat bay. There is monastery with a museum containing local costumes over the ages, world monies, old religious vestments & a Cabinet of Wonders which would entertain most curious children as it contains weird stuffed animals & jars contains animal embryos etc.

We visited this small church when we were in Baska. It truly is beautiful and a must see. Definitely worth taking an hour to visit the church and walk the grounds. There is a small souvenir shop attached to the property that also sells refreshments.

We came there in the evening. Spend a night there, although it is not allowed. Actually you have to pay for parking from 9.00-21.00 standing up to 6h 15kunas, more than 6h 30kunas
Water is nicely salty and refreshing.
There was no sun so full power of healing mud could not work :o)
But still it was fun. Alot of fun.
There was no people so we had all the beach just for us...

It's a great adventure to explore the whole island even with children under 6. The museum is not too big to be boring, but be careful with the "Cabinet of wonders" which contains real goat embryos in glass jars - definitely not for kids. :) All in all, its a must see.
The bad experience was the taxi. Be wiser than us and wait for the ferry. At the tourist office they said the round trip by taxi is 20 HRK for adults and half or free for children under 6 - it depends on the driver. Gaspar who was our driver not just asked 25 HRK per adults, but even for my 5 yrs old and 17 months(!) old daughter, so it was a 100 for us. When he asked him to came back a bit earlier for us (it was 16:20 and the museum closes at 17) he said he used to take the ride every our so we have to live with it. So we waited 20 minutes for him at the harbour with the kids and with a nice couple from Switzerland. Right after we came back he wanted to make us to pay the price again! We showed the bill he gave us but he didnt care. He stoped arguing only after the swiss lady told him she sew that we gave him the 100 HRK when he bring us to the island.
So once again: try to avoid the taxis especially Gaspar.

The 12th century castle was once the final line of the city's defence. the square tower served as a court. The seafront tower is worth visiting for its architecture alone and the views from the top of the city walls are excellent.

We stopped to see this beautiful church while staying a few days in Baska. The Church of Saint Trinity is worth stopping to see. The view from the church that overlooks the sea is really good. It has a lot of history and if you are lucky enough to speak to one of the friendly locals they will be more than happy to tell you a few stories.
