Part of the Gaya Island Resort, an excellent idea situated on one of their beaches. Inside the research centre, there are a number of fish tanks which are being used to grow coral. This coral is being planted onto concrete slabs, in an attempt to conserve the reef around the resort. It appears to be working. I only met Scott, one of the two people running the centre. He was very passionate about thye work that they are carrying out.

This rafflesia center is a good place to stop when you explore the outskirt of Kota Kinabalu. The rafflesia species here is beautiful.
