Kokkola (Swedish: Karleby) is a town and municipality of Finland. The town is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Ostrobothnia region. The town has a population of 47,722 (31 August 2017) and covers an area of 2,730.80 square kilometres (1,054.37 sq mi) of which 1,286.61 km (496.76 sq mi) is water. The population density is 33.04 inhabitants per square kilometre (85.6/sq mi). Neighbour municipalities are Halsua, Kalajoki, Kannus, Kaustinen, Kronoby, Lestijärvi, Larsmo and Toholampi.

ITE-museo

The ITE Museum is a Contemporary Folk Art Museum maintained by the city of Kokkola and Maaseudun Sivistysliitto. Its main task is to exhibit and promote Finnish contemporary folk art or ITE art. The building was built in 1813 as a living quarter for the Pedagogio’s teacher. In the ITE Museum in Kokkola you can see exhibitions based on the Collections, as well as visiting exhibitions.

Roos House - K.H.Renlund museum

The construction of the house was finished in 1813. The design has influences from both Rococo and Gustavianism, Swedish neo-classicism. As a combination of architectural styles the Roos House is one of a kind in Finland. In here you can see how the Roos family lived. Karl Herman Renlund's art collection in the 2nd floor consists of approximately 50 works from the Golden Age of Finnish Art.
