This is a must visit place with young kids. Our kids aged 10 and 3 loved the whole experience where they learnt about bee keeping, coffee growing, elephants, feeding the ducks, fishing and meeting the cows... it was a lovely walk and interaction with Kushi. She was kind enough to accommodate us as we went without prior information. I recommend talking to her once before going there so that they can be better prepared. The kid in me loved seeing the touch me nots and making bubbles from a leaf stem... all in all, a highly recommended place. Thank you Kushi for your hospitality and the lovely time today.

Mercara Gold Estate is a 20 year old coffee and spice farm 8 KM from Madikeri, Coorg. The farm is unique as all the spices are grown and well organised. There is also coffee processing and roasting at the estate itself. The estate offers a guided tour of the farm and visitors are introduced to all the different crops as well as roasting process. The tour takes about a hour and coffee is served at the end of it. Visitors also can buy some farm fresh products.

We were guided by Mr Ravi. He is very kind and knowledgeable guide who has a good knowledge about the plantation and explained everything about verities of coffee and spices. Enjoyed the plantation visit especially my son Evan he enjoyed walking through that plantation with Mr Ravi.

This was our second visit to this temple. Lord Subrahmanya had fulfilled many of our wishes after our first visit so we had to come back. The deity is known as Lord Igguthappa by the Kodavas. He is considered to be a provider of food and the one who fulfils his devotee’s desires. During the harvest festival, paddy is first harvested in the fields belonging to the Lord, and only then the people of Kodagu celebrate the festival. The priest here meets each individual devotee personally and gives them his blessings. Even though we could not speak Kannada he got across to us very well and it felt good to talk to him and get the blessings of the God. He then took us to the kitchen where we received the ‘Maha-Prasad’ in the form of a full meal of rice, sambar and a sweet dish. The temple is located in a very natural and beautiful setting, surrounded by hills and forests. It is definitely a must visit if you are in the South of Kodagu, and if you are a believer of the Hindu traditions.

The falls are situated at a distance of 25 kilometres from Somwarpet.Mallalli falls - its orchestra of water, good location.The best time to visit the falls is the monsoon season as during this time the falls have plenty of water. Even the greenery around is at its best during this time. During summer season, the water of the fall almost dries down. Visiting during rainy season can be a good idea.

Visited Coorg for a day and decided to drive up to Mandalpatti! The roads going uphill are a bit rough so a small vehicle would be a little uncomfortable but a regular sedan or an SUV would be easy to drive up to the top. From the top, you can get a offroading SUV for about INR 750 per person which takes you to a point in Mandalpatti which has a splendid 360 degree view once you climb a small hilltop after the Offroading experience. The scenery is breathtaking especially in the evening when the fog starts covering the valleys! A must see location if you visit Coorg! One or two days are sufficient to see all of Coorg!

In all the waterfalls in and around coorg, this is the least crowded, clean, scenic & one of the few fall's where we can take a dip in the water safely (no changing rooms though). Bit hard to reach by sedan, hatchback(manageable with suv or bike). Make sure to carry extra clothes if you are visiting this place (after seeing it, most probably you will take a plunge in the water ). Note: Don't enter into the water below the falls(don't know why, locals advise. ).

Birth place of River Kaveri, Tala Kaveri temple is located on top of Bhramagiri hills. The temple worships Kaveri river and has separate idols for Lord Ganesha, Agasteshwarar and Kaveri amma. A small yet beautiful temple, a must visit and if you are Kodagu area. We drove from Virajpet and the drive was wonderful. It felt as if we had large swathes of road just for ourselves.

Visited this place on 31st December 2020. A huge rocky hill covered by mist and having a temple of Shiva at its base. It was fun to scale the rocks to a certain height and feel the mist air. Recommended for Adventurists, couples, families and just about anyone. However please note to respect the temple premises and not litter.
