Snorkelling with One Ocean gives you the chance to see another part of Zanzibar, off the beaten trail from the normal tourist route: because of the tide we usually go one way by boat and way by bus, for about 30 minutes on an unpaved road through the traditional Muyuni village. Meeting time is in the morning (between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.) and we are back after 5-6 hours (between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.), depending on the tide. We have traditional dhows on which you can cruise gently along the coast of Zanzibar as well as a wooden speed boat that will get you to Mnemba in (almost) a heartbeat.

Inclusions: National Park fees, Bottled water, Light refreshments, Hotel pickup and drop-off (selected hotels only), Snacks

Exclusions: Souvenir photos (available to purchase), Lunch, Alcoholic drinks

Tour in Quad in zanzibar is the best way to approach this fantastic and wild way off road. Half day driving on a path made of secondary roads. Agriculture and land paths, easy to pass, passing next to multiple rice paddies, cane plantations from zuchero, fruit plants, bananas, coconuts, mangoes.. In this way enviroment meets you with a wonderful nature that in every season gives us spectacular landscapes rich in colour, but Quad zanzibar tour does not stop there. We will also rest in the areas where you will meet and understand the life of the local people, all with a true mystery that has always surrounded the island.

We did a walking tour of Stonetown and Prison Island and it was enjoyable but not terrific or spectacular. The town was compact but there wasn’t a great deal of places of interest and why would we think there would be! It was an okay walk around a market and part of the African experience so don’t expect too much. You will visit shops or stalls expecting you to buy something of course. Prison Island is a 30 minute each way boat trip which is pleasant in the sea breeze and a look at the giant turtles. They are worth seeing as they are monsters but there is nothing else on the Island. If you do this trip don’t pay too much if you want value for money!

3. Snorkelling around Stone Town

One Ocean Dive Centre, Bottom of Kenyatta Road Stone Town TZ, Zanzibar 0000, Tanzania The Zanzibar Dive Centre, One Ocean

Snorkelling from One Ocean Stone Town gives you the luxury to have a colourful reef almost only for yourself as we head to our selected reefs which are far away from the most crowded ones. Meeting time is at 8:30 a.m. and we are back early afternoon at 2:00 p.m. We will do or 2 snorkelling sessions with a surface interval spent on the boat where a delicious snack made of seasonal fruit and traditional Swahili food can be enjoyed.

Inclusions: Bottled water, Light refreshments, Snacks

Exclusions: Lunch, Alcoholic drinks

4. kiwengwa caves

Kiwengwa, Tanzania Pongwe Tour & Safari

These caves are a part of ancient history of the Zanzibar Island. The locals would visit the caves to worship their ancestors, bringing gifts to the holy stones. From the hotel, it is short journey north to visit these caves, which have just recently been opened to the public. The stalagmites and stalactites have formed from water dissolving calcium carbonate from coral stones. The use of flashlights (torches) is necessary as the caves extend deep into the rock; however, the naturally formed holes in the ceiling of the caves let sunlight in, creating an exciting atmosphere. Another curios feature is the roots that have forced their way through the ground and look like electric wires connecting the ceiling to the bottom of the cave.

In the beginning, I hesitated a lot to book a safari with this company, knowing that it was my first safari trip, as I did not find much reviews for it since it is a new company, but I took the risk because they made a great offer with amazing accommodations with an excellent price, and this was one of my best decisions. I have contacted several companies and they were offering great offers with a high price, and other companies had offers with a reasonable price, but the accommodations were not good. I contacted Connect African Safaris and they were very helpful and were very quick to respond in adjusting the safari schedule and accommodations with Hamidu When we arrived at kilimanjaro Airport, my husband and I met Omar and he explained many things to us about the region, culture and tribes on our way to the hotel and also showed us a wonderful restaurant to have dinner in Arusha On the second day the adventure started with our driver and guide Hamisi. He is really cool and professional. He was very helpful with us and tried hard to make us enjoy the best game driving and see a lot of animals. We've seen the Big Five They are a great company and we had the BEST safari experience with them. Thank you guys for the most wonderful trip.
