Arrived expecting to learn more about brewing process and Mother Earth. The tour was fabulous!!! We left feeling really good about ME as a friendly, community oriented, eco-conscious business. A few hours later, we returned to the tap room hoping for a similar experience...to learn more about the beer from a taste perspective. The bartender was curt when we asked what the most popular beers were. There were no descriptions of the beers except for the 2 special brews. It would have been nice to have descriptions of the beer on tap. We each ordered a flight and sampled around. The feel good experience was negated by this experience. If the tap room is meant to attract new beer lovers to the ME brand, they need to staff the tap room appropriately with enthusiastic employees. The day we were there, only one server for the entire room. It felt like a typical bar, not an educational beer tasting experience.
Note to business....invest in this portion of your sales model. Often, what customers make emotional decisions when choosing which beer to enjoy.

We have traveled Hwy 70 from Raleigh to the beaches for years, but just recently discovered this lovely little park when taking a detour to find the CSS Neuse memorial. Neuseway Nature Park includes a planetarium, health and science museum, nature center and a mini train that takes you on a trip around the park. Just be sure to check days and times of each facility. Some have admission charge.

Impressing life sized model next to the downtown farmers markert stand. Came after the interior was closed. Open on Saturdays until 4pm. The outside provides a clear view for pictures and their are a couple historic markers outlining the edge of the property. Worth seeing even if you can't go inside. Paired it with a visit to the CSS Neuse Civil War Interpretive Center and the Cliffs of Neuse state park.

We are located on a Civil War Battlefield and we display artifacts from the Civil War. We have clean restrooms and vending machines. We look forward to helping you during your visit to this area.

The attendant was eager to be helpful. However they did not have a detailed map of the town, and many of the brochures did not give hours. It turned out that over half the attractions on our list were closed on weekdays except by appointment. The attendant didn't seem to know that, nor was it clear on the web sites we checked before planning our trip to Kinston.

This would be an awesome place to take the kids during the summer if they stopped worrying about money and put the guests' experience and safety first. The kiddie play area was closed so the only area available for small children was the zero-entry area where people also had to enter the lazy river. Adults and bigger children were pushing and shoving their way into the area with small children and we began to worry about or youngest child's safety and we were right there next to him! The lines for the water slides weren't too bad, pretty normal for a summer weekend at any other water park but it was way too over-crowded in every area of the park. I think it would be beneficial to run it similar to the water park in Emerald Isle or the Aquatic Center in New Bern and either charge by the hour and/or have a maximum capacity. Yes there will be people waiting in line outside for what could be a while, but that keeps the guests inside happy and safer and would probably let more people like my family want to come back. We definitely will not come back...it's not worth the hour drive and the money.

After visiting the local artists studio, we came to this location. The art displays were very interesting and we enjoyed the quiet and solitude as we toured the gallery. We especially enjoyed the model train displays in the basement.
It is great that the town has developed a wonderful center for local artists to showcase their works.

Historic baseball stadium completely updated for the 2017 season and the new home team, the East Carolina Wood Duck. Totally excited to have a home team in Kinston after five or so years of no regular baseball! The stadium is clean, fresh, comfortable and offers plenty of free parking, large and very clean restrooms, seating, food venues and a gift shop! Excellent view from any seat or sideline. Tickets average $5 for general admission. Senior/Student and Military discounts available. Some Friday night home games have a fireworks show at the end of the game. A must see!

When we visited the site on May 1st we didn't expect much. But there was a tour guide who explained the ships history very detailed and vivdly. She also answered all our questions with great patience and showed us the models they have at the site. Afterwards we stopped at the replica but it could top the real ship.
Very recommendable!!!
