The feeling when you arrive at Kato Zakros is that you have reached the end of the world. Which is why we loved it. Bit of a trek over the mountains to find it but if you like peace and quiet worth the effort. There seems to be three beaches. One in front of the village backed by the tavernas. One immediately to the south, which was fairly stony which had some naturists on it and similarly a small stony bay 300 metres north of the village.
