Ravindranath Tagore Beach

Reviewed By gautamc75 - Navi Mumbai, India

A typical beach adjoining a small town. The beach though is clean and has the typical commercial mélange of ice cream sellers and other vendors and speed boat operators offering their services. Though the boards put up warnings of fines getting imposed in case of littering and other acts it is far from getting implemented.

Very good place to visit early in morning when sea retreats. You can sea a narrow patch of beach appearing out of sea. Scenic place for photography. Avoid post 9am as it can get sweaty and humid.

This is one of the most beautiful Beaches in Karwar. Reminded me of Thailand with all the little Islands jutting out of the water. Blue waters and soft sand and totally unvisited. An absolute treasure!

If you are moving towards karwar take left from Panvel - Edapally Highway NH 66 just before kali Bridge. Road is available till the temple entrance. Before entering the Sadashivgad Fort you can visit Durga temple and 17th century old dargah. Ancient temple of durgamata was rebuild in 1928 by local Bhandari Community. Idol of Durgamata and durga temple is very beautiful.

Karwar Aquarium

Reviewed By gautamc75 - Navi Mumbai, India

For the charge of INR 50 for adults and INR 30 for children I felt cheated. The aquarium has some exhibits of fishes which are poorly labeled. The tanks though are well maintained.
The worst was seen at the entrance of the aquarium where some doves and chickens were kept in cages. The absolute horror was to see 2 Persian cats kept in cages and who are never allowed out of their scrunched up quarters.
A pretty sad set up

Tilimati Beach

Reviewed By Donald D - Kollam, India

This beach view shows its spreads along the coast line. The waters are shallow and the sand is more blackish. It is a great draw for those crossing over along the National Highway to Goa and Mumbai. Most of the Beaches in Karwar came to fame after being discovered much later for being less crowded or commercialised.
A perfect picnic spot.!
