Narayani Dham Temple

Reviewed By Girdev - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Visited the temple and stayed overnight in their rooms.
Very big compound. Well maintained garden and surrounding. Well lit colored lighting and Fountain.
Goddess Naranani, Lord Ganesh and Hanuman were the deities in the same compound. Temple surroundings was clean.
Guest Rooms were dirty. Not even swept or mopped when they allotted the rooms. Corridor was dusty and the broom was lying outside the room from 9 in the morning till the next day we left I.e.9 am.
They provide coffee, good quality break fast, lunch and dinner at affordable price. Provided you book in advance. Generally I felt the staff were not very friendly. Get a feeling of Pro Gujarati (I wish I am wrong)

We went to almost all the points in Matheran but finally concluded that Lousia points is enough and the only spot one should visit here.
Trust me, all the points in Matheran are similar, so you should not tire yourself walking all the way to cover all the points.Louisa point is best in terms of scenic beauty, one can see entire Matheran from there, and even the sunset can be seen from here.

Imagica Theme Park

Imagica Theme Park is India's first and only International standard Theme Park, offering fun, action, entertainment, dining and shopping at a single location. Imagica Theme park is no ordinary theme park. There's nothing of this scale, or anything close to it in India and the Subcontinent. Where others have rides, Imagica theme park is driven by a whole world of fantastical themes to bring Indian families' experiences that they have never had before. No expense has been spared to bring in world class international designers, the best architectural elements and the most exciting novel attractions to rival any park in the world.

Imagica turned out to be an excellent choice for my nine year old son's birthday. Not only did he enjoyed all the rides but also my five year old daughter had a blast celebrating Tubby;s birthday with all the theme park characters.
My son enjoyed most rides especially Alibaba & Challis chor at Arabia, Rajasaurous River ride, Mr. India car ride. He also enjoyed the snow park though it was bit cold for my daughter and my aged father-in-law. If your children don't like horror places then please avoid "Salimgarh" ride. Also, I for India is a good attraction but not enjoyable for people with vertigo. There are also many more rides like Save the pirate, 360 degrees Motion Picture "Prince of the Dark waters" which whole of the family can enjoy together. Highly recommended especially during weekdays to avoid rush as staff was very friendly and encouraging throughout the rides.
Please note there are other rides like Wrath of Gods, Deep Space etc. which we couldn't take this time so would not be able to comment.

Accessibility is quite easy...regular ST buses available from Panvel depot...you can also hire a tumtum auto for 600/- from Panvel to the base village...best to go there on bike via Shedung - vardoli to Thakurwadi...i would recommend it only in monsoon otherwise it is very hot n humid or please start very early by 6 am ...you can also avoid the long zig zag road to the prabal machi by taking a few trails created by streams (used by locals) and save 45 odd mins...will soon upload a video on youtube...feel free to ask for any questions...contact numbers..happy trekking

Karnala Bird Sanctuary

Reviewed By Rahulshinde - Mumbai, India

Every bird watcher should do minimum 1 trip to this place, I like to do at least once in two months, given the fact other places too are there to do so. Hint for Karnala is make sure you spend more time near a small make shfit lake, straight once you enter the sanctuary, you will be surprised how many species turn up for water. Right time is around 7 am to 11 am, once sun take command it game over (Almost). Do also spend time wherever there is a gap int he canopy as then cris crossing birds can be sighted with ease. Initially I use to go in group and trek within the woods, till one day I finished my walk and came near the lake....voila......species, species and species

Kothaligad (Peth) Fort

Reviewed By SreeAndGaya - Mumbai, India

We travelled to Kothaligad with friends (group of 8) from Mumbai. Train to Karjat and from the railway station, a short walk to the bus stand. We were supposed to take a bus to Ambivali but it was cancelled that day. So the bus operators advised us to take the Murbad bus and alight at Kashele. The bus started about 30 mins late and stopped every 10 mins to pick up passengers. It took us about an hour and 15 mins to reach Kashele. From Kashele we took an auto to ambivali which is the base of the trek. The 8 seat auto cost us 200 rupees. We began trekking and reached the Peth village in about an hour. Here there are some locals who run small eateries and lemon juice stalls. We took a break here and then climbed to the top. During our break, a group of 160 TCS employees came along with guides for a hike to the top. So what ought to have been a 30min climb, surrounded by mist and quiet, became a noisy, crowded climb which took us about an hour. Also, we observed that quite a few people in that group were littering - throwing empty bottles and chocolate wrappers around. A big plea to people who want to trek - do not litter. These are not only protected monuments but also ecologically sensitive areas. Also, to the guides - please take smaller groups to treks like these. A group of 100+ on a narrow and steep path will block the route for everyone else.
Reaching the top was awesome after crossing the hoard below. We spent about 30 mins on the top and descending took us another hour. Beware: no transport from Ambivali to Kashele after 5pm. You can get buses from Kashele to Karjat but timings are not reliable. Would recommend you take your own transport. Barring that, make a deal with an auto guy to drop you to neral or Karjat in the evening.

Peb Fort

Reviewed By VINITGADRE - Nashik, India

Peb Fort also known as Vikatgad ,Vikat which means difficult. It is located near Neral and connects to Matheran mountain range. It is 2100 feet high.I can describe trek to Vikatgad as Adventurous and thrilling experience. It requires quite a lot of stamina to climb up almost 3.5 hours climbing up from Anandwadi village which is near to neral from where you start the trek.We descended from opposite side that is relatively easier and took 1.5 hours plus a 30 min walk along the Matheran toy train route. The trek is described as easy to moderate by trekkers but isnt that easy and is slippery in rainy season. The trek takes you through Waterfalls, dense forest, walking of the mountain ridge surrounded by lush green grass and banana trees, ladders all kinds of experience that you would like to imagine in a adventourous trek. But it is difficult at 2,3 places you have to climb between two huge rocks with very little support a simple slip and you are danger of risking your life. Also we have seen some landslides in some areas. There is a huge cave that can accomodate around 10 people.also some two small caves where a man can bearly slide into.We had taken some electoral powder along with us that helped and you have to carry something to eat chocolates, and some snacks. Also carry ample water with you as it is exhausting,if you are visiting in rainy you can find some water in Waterfalls at top .Once you reach top it is awesome feeling there a a small temple.Preferably you should start descending by or before 4 o clock because local say to spot leopard in the area and there are very few people that will accompany after 4.We had taken a local guide who was a boy and it helped because there are many confusing routes and it can leave you roaming.Must visit once experience if you are a adventure lover

Imagica Snow Park

Reviewed By SheetalSoni - Mumbai, India

Our visit to the snow world was slightly below average mainly because there was nothing much to do. Of course there is snow to play but amongst the activities there was only snow rafting. If in a big group you might still end up utilizing the one hour time given inside otherwise not enough activity to hold on. There is disco area but that's again a group thing!
The do give a winter jacket, boots and gloves but remember to carry pair of socks and avoid wearing shorts.
