The Stone Wedding are rock formations located 5 km from the town of Kardzhali. Interesting is the legend that tells about these rock formations – when the wedding went, everyone who saw the face of the bride got frozen. So, at a wedding, a wind blew, took off the veil hiding the face of the bride, and all the wedding guests were frozen instantly!

Stunning stones, interesting history and awesome view from the top of the hill. There is a road which leads to the top. It’s not a hard road. I recommend you to visit it. 2 hours minimum are needed to take a walk everywhere in the village.

This church is a remnant of an old and powerful monastery complex, should be visited to understand the history of the city of Kurdjali, good guide needed however

The museum is located near the center of the town, near the exit to the town of Haskovo. The building was built in the early twenties of the twentieth century, according to a project by Prof. Arch. Pemberjanetz, a lecturer at the St. Petersburg Art Academy. Like most museum buildings in Bulgaria and the original one was created for another purpose. The idea was to house a madrasa (a Muslim spiritual school). Due to the different vicissitudes of fate, this is never the case, but the initial design of the building requires atypical, architectural solutions. The Moroccan arches and details reminiscent of the architecture of the Arab world dominate the façade. Due to its unique appearance, the building is declared a monument of culture of national importance.
