Not having time to visit a Pepper Farm, I dropped into Farm Link in Kampot with my daughter. We were pleasantly surprised by the free, informative tour and answers to our questions. We learned a lot and really enjoyed the pepper, salt and palm sugar tastings. There were enough plants outside in the garden to see the difference between different pepper plants as well as see peppers drying and being sorted for quality. Very affordable products available in the shop given the amount of labor involved in production.

La Plantation

La Plantation is a social and sustainable family project, the perfect combination of traditional farming and modern processing. At La Plantation, we produce Black, Red, White Kampot pepper and the exclusive Fresh Salted Kampot Pepper, Red Long Pepper, Turmeric, Bird Chili and local fruits. Grown traditionally and harvested by hand, our spices are processed with high standards in quality and hygiene and are certified organic by Ecocert. Presentation, tasting and free guided tour in English, French, and Khmer. You will understand why Kampot Pepper has been elected #1 best pepper in the world. La Plantation has also a social dimension by improving the living conditions of many people in this rural area and by taking care of the primary school. You can enjoy our spices in our two restaurants (Khmer and French), or join a Khmer cooking class. You can also experience a tour in the rural countryside up to Secret Lake in a cart pulled by water buffaloes.

We loved our visit to La Plantation, awesome free tour and sampling of the different types of pepper which is unusual as most of the operations in this country are designed to grab as much money from tourists as possible. Great commitment to the local community. This was definitely a highlight of our trip in Cambodia. We would also recommend hiring a tuk tuk for the day so you can see some other things on the way out there.

If you're the type of traveler who likes an adventure, then make your way to this awesome pagoda which is perched on a hill. Discover over 20,000 Buddha statues, plus a huge Buddha on the top of the hill - but you'll need to walk the 199 steps up the hill to see it all in its beauty!! The journey by car will take around three to four hours from Phnom Penh. You'll be rewarded with some spectacular scenery as you drive through the green hills. Take a hat or umbrella when climbing the hill. There is no shade and it's all uphill.

Rent a motorbike and enjoy the amazing road to get in Bokor Hill Station. Once on the top, you will get to see some more or less impressive ghost buildings from another time (even if not so long ago). Bring snacks with you, you don't get much choice up there. And don't forget to get a full tank before driving up.

Old Catholic Church

Reviewed By DeanS403 - Portland, United States

One of the must-see designations on a day trip to Bokor Mountain. Just a short drive outside of Kampot. Under any weather scenario be sure to bring a lightweight coat and perhaps wear pants as it is very, very windy on Bokor Mountain and it can get quite chilly at times. Plan on spending at least half a day viewing the many sites on Bokor Mountain. We took a tuk tuk from Kampot to view the sites. It is best to get there early in the day to avoid the crowds. A stop at this church will take no more than ½ hour and is a good place to take a few photographs.

Outstanding service at their retail shop in Phnom Penh. We bought black, red and white pepper. Tried all of them right there. They also have red pepper vodka, which they make by infusing regular vodka with their red peppercorns. Outstanding. Gave us the recipe to make it at home. Super nice. Well worth a visit.
