Kalimpong is a bustling bazaar town set among the rolling foothills and deep valleys of the Himalayas. A very beautiful hilltop view point in Kalimpong. Since we went in monsoon it was entirely covered with fog and mist. It felt wonderful though, as if we were walking amid the clouds. There is a beautiful park with playground for kids, horse riding, and a couple of view points from where you can look over Teesta river and enjoy the serenity. There is a guesthouse here as well which can be booked through WBTDC website.

Located at Durpin, a hillock/spur on the southern end of Kalimpong is a Buddhist monastery and school for young monks. To reach the monastery, you have to drive up a narrow path through a military camp. The monastery has 3 foors and offers great views of the town and surrounding hills.

A big beautiful monastery is located on this hill. We went during prayer time and it was so peaceful experience. From the topmost floor of the monastery bird's eye view of the small town of kalimpong is just wonderful. According to local guide it was called "durbin" meaning binocular hill. Nowadays it's called durbin. One of the best attractions of kalimpong located very close to the town. Must visit when in kalimpong

We visited this place around the afternoon time and just loved it. Very peaceful, views are amazing, the whole place is covered with different kinds of flora, there is a seating place available and the statue is also beautifully made. You can easily spend one to two hours enjoying the beauty around you. Definitely recommend visiting this place.
