Always wanted to stop by and glad I finally did. Easily accessible and just beautiful. Loved walking around and just admiring the views and the beauty of the prairie.

Hands down our favorite lake in Kansas and we spend 30+ days on the water each year. Good fishing. Great scenery. Excellent party scene on Nudie Beach. However, when the algae blooms, it is an absolute disaster. The last several years it has been a horrible problem for days on end in the summer. KDWP and USACE desperately need to find a solution to that toxic situation.
5 stars for the lake! ZERO stars for the algae problem. DO NOT plan a long distance trip to this lake without checking out the algae bloom status.

The history of the post is astounding. There is a lot of things that you can do and see on post. The post is a ways away from the surrounding community, but the post itself, has many amenities.

Great for kids I think. Still fun for adults. Animals, info, fish hatchery and small butterfly walk through. Shaded spots to sit when outside and playground for the kids.

First off, one cannot just walk in to see the museum. You have to go through clearance at the Visitors Center, with presentation of your drivers license or whatever other ID they accept. After filling out a form, we waited about 20 minutes to get our paperwork finished. We were then issued official passes, and then we're able to proceed through Henry Gate. The buildings are interestingly constructed .....I was fascinated by the architecture. The museum explained the role that the Calvary and Buffalo Soldiers played in this part of the West, as well as internationally. There is a collection of tanks in the back of the museum ......horses have been mechanized.

This isn't really Custer's house as that no longer exists. But this house is similar to the one he and his wife lived in at Ft. Riley. The house is two floors, large, furnished with pieces from that era and gives you an idea of how an infantry officer lived. There is a docent at the house who can give you a tour or answer questions. Apparently this house is haunted! It did not take very long to tour the house, maybe 20 min.

A part of Junction City history since 1882 and listed on the state register of historic places since 2003, we are home to a full professional performance season, the Junction City Little Theater, the Junction City Arts Council, and the Junction City Band.

This is something most people will not expect to see in this part of the country. This Opera House is simple beautiful, it will take your breathe away with its ambiance. This venue is recently renovated and is a wonderful step back into time.

It appears to be in the middle of nowhere. Check out the website and find the falls. It's not a long hike but it's absolutely beautiful. The site is breathtaking.

My boys had a great time climbing the hill up to the cannon and then they got to climb all over it! It's a great view up there!

This museum is located in a past city high school, and is run by a young energetic crew with a great
I've for history. They are very community involved, and want to get the word out about what they do, and the events the museum offers.
