Bodegas Carchelo

We are heirs of a millenary tradition and we must take care of it and improve it. Every year we grow with care in our work of growing the vines, elaboration, care and ageing of our wines so that this millenary tradition continues. Only the silence, the peace, the fragrance of the wine and the wood for ageing that could be breathe in this winery, together with the beautiful environment at the natural park of the Sierra de El Carche, make your visit worthwhile. We will talk to you about the vineyards, the land, the vines, the people, the transformation from grapes to wines, their ageing, their bottling and, as not... the divine, about the wine. We will end up enjoying the result of everything that we have told you before... the wines, our wines, which from then on will be also your wines. VISITING HOURS: - Monday - Friday: 10:30; 12:30 and 16:00 - Saturday: 10:30 and 12:30 (pre appointment)

Visited for my husband’s birthday. Maria was extremely helpful and accommodating in organising our tour and light lunch (complete with pastries and birthday candles!). That the wines, olive oil and almonds were delicious and reasonably priced an added bonus! We’ll definitely be seeking out the Organic Monastrell in Waitrose when we return to London!

Bodegas Luzon

Bodegas Luzón is one of the main producers and exporters of quality wines of the D.O Jumilla, and one of its most historic wineries, producing wine since the mid-nineteenth century. At present we have more than 1,200 hectares of vineyards and 12,000 m2 of constructed area. The structure of the original winery combines perfectly with the stone, wood and glass, which make our winery a special place, which gathers the best of its past and incorporates the best technology and the best human team to produce wines with a strong personality. Wines full of personality, soul and life.

Bodegas Luzon asked if we wanted an English or Spanish guide before our visit and although they couldn't do the day we wanted we were happy to change dates.Although a 'group tour' they still put this on for just my wife and I. Excellent tour with our guide Patricia, who provided us with an wonderful insight into wine making at Bodegas Luzon which was established in 1916.The tour ended with a delightful tasting experience of excellent wines and we both felt privileged to have been shown around this historical site.Thoroughly recommend the tour if you are interested in history, wine making and wine tasting! We took our tour from a Groupon experience.

The museum is out in the countryside near Sierra del Carche, Jumilla. New and recently opened with good displays and air conditioned. We purchased a package that included 1 night at Casa Labrador, lunch at CIEN restaurant and Monastrell tasting with Visit to the Museum. Museum has good displays of how Monastrell vineyards were planted and harvested 100 years ago. All very close to each other. CIEN is unique providing different tanks of wine for you to serve yourself. A car is needed to visit this area of Jumilla. Be aware that Museum and CIEN closes Wednesdays. As part of our visit we toured the Monastrell vineyard outside. Planted in the old style of bushes (not trellis) it was something new to us. Tasting was presented with different snacks of the area. Local cheese, Marcona almonds, El Faro olives. Here it was interesting to compare the wines served in the tanks of CIEN restaurant. Museum has a great store to purchase local goods and wine. A Visit museo del vino hacienda del Carche is a worth it. museodelvinojumilla dot com In May 2019 the days were sunny, a bit chilly in the morning and evenings. We leave Spain with good memories of Jumilla
