My group visited the winery today and had the best time! This place is a real hidden gem. Wesley made our tasting very special taking time to get group photos of us both inside and outside the vineyard and even made sure we liked the pictures before we finished.

He went absolutely above and beyond to serve our group of ladies and made Chateau Meichtry our hands down favorite winery of the day that we visited.

The wine was divine as well! The Susse Root red wine was one of our favorites along with the Old Vine Zinfandel.

What a beautiful place and wonderful staff! Don't miss it!

Went this last weekend, March 17 and the daffodils were in bloom making my wife in heaven. In the next week they will be more vibrant. This place is beautifully landscaped with all sorts of flowers and shrubs. Great place to walk and get exercise as well because it does have some hills. The Japanese Garden is gorgeous and is on the level down the center so no hills to conquer there. Tram does go around the garden for those who cannot do all the walking. We had a chance to visit with Mr. Jim Gibbs the owner, who is a very successful landscaper in Atlanta area. What a nice man. $20 admission per adult, but worth the trip.

On our mountain cabin retreat for Christmas week we visited Mountain valley farm to purchase something for Christmas dinner. We loved the farm seeing rabbits running free from one place to another. The property was beautiful with barns and a real farm feel. We also saw a baby calf in a shelter keeping warm. They had pigs and chickens not many out mostly in barns because it was so cold. I purchased 2 filet mignons and a cheddar cheese block. Those filets were the best we have ever eaten. They were tender and so flavorful. I wanted to buy milk & hamburger meat but as it was Christmas Eve they were sold out. I would definitely go back there again and they ship out of state. Yeah!

This was on the boys list of things to do on our trip.
Very interesting store. What I thought would be a 10-2 min stop ended up being a 1.5-2 hour stop.
The kids did gold panning, geode cracking, and then gem mining. Lol.
The staff was more than welcoming and involved with all the questions the kids had.
Great stop...

The view from the lodge is breathtaking, especially if you walk up to it. The lodge is a little dated but woodsy, with some interesting art on the walls all making you feel like you are outside while being inside. All the staff were very helpful and friendly all of the food offerings were a buffet but you can order parts or all of that. They now have full bar offerings but that is a work in progress, they don't really have the space for it as yet. We were on the 1st floor which is below the ground level where you enter the lodge. These rooms have a small patio in back with sliding doors. The 2 queen rooms were adequate but a bit small.

So many great treats to try and buy. We sampled apples and bought an apple pie and pecan pie. The pecan pie was outstanding! Apple pie was very good. Took home bread and butter pickles ( best we’ve ever eaten) sadly they don’t have mail order and it will be a while before we can get back up there. The blackberry and strawberry preserves are excellent and the apple bread was also delicious.
We can’t wait to go back for more treats!
