Himos Ski Resort

Reviewed By Liskotus - Tromso, Norway

Stopped here on the way to Helsinki. Very nice day to do some slalom skiing. Good variation of slopes. Few more challenging black slopes and slopes you can do some hopping and tricks. Others were red or blue slopes. Good variation of ski lifts. To chair lifts also where you can take a break while going up.
Many restaurants on the area also up on the slopes. Also places you can grill sausages and eat your own food.
You can rent a cottage or stay in a hotel on the area.
The slopes aren't so high and long as in northern Finland but definitely the best choice in this area!

Located perfectly in the heart of Jämsä and they have nice home shop where you may buy some souvenirs. Also highly recommended to visit the old museum and why not cup of coffee and tasty pastry.

It's a very nice way to spend a warm sunny day with your friends/family. If you are looking for a calm activity - it's a place to be! The boar trip takes around 2 hours. They ride you around on the second biggest lake of Finland while you enjoy the sun and beautiful nature around. You can buy tea/coffee/donuts/smth more serious on board. There are discounts for seniors and students as long as I believe. They also give a small excursion (only in Finnish). Be ready for the wind (the lake is really big and it's always fresh on the open water).

That was nice adventure.
Visit to farm is started from familiarity with dogs. Staff tells about husky and other dogs. You can play with dogs and after that harness them. Husky is very friendly animal. Safari is a sleigh harnessed with 7-9 dogs. You seat on warm deer skin and enjoy fast driving. After safari you can drink warm finish drink with delicious cookies inside traditional finish house with big stove in the center. Thank you for warm welcome and interesting impression for whole family.
