We traveled from Srinagar to Sonmarg in one and half hour. It is 75kms. We reached in between the snow clad mountains, stunning meadows and luckily it was snow fall today that is icing on the cake. What more you need. Really enjoyed the snowfall. We hired jackets gum boots and pony for Rs 3000/- The person took us to see three points. The thing I love most about winter is playing in the snow! Me and Rajesh played a snowball fight, we made footprints and many many more!!! There is absolutely nothing more peaceful that I can think of than watching snow gently fall. Amazing experience!!!!!

We went there on 5-6 April 2021. There was a lot of snow all around. The view is spectacular. You can either hire a snow bike or sledge to take you to the view point for the Glacier. Excellent view. But be careful before hiring the sledge. We were given to understand that two persons will pull/push our sledge and take us to the top of the first mountain. However we discovered later that the helpers are to be paid extra. We ended up paying more than Rs 3000 for two people. As we stayed one night, next day we were offered almost half the rate. This issue is present all the places in Kashmir. Bargain hard and learn about the rates beforehand.

It’s in the outskirts of Leh. Your driver will definitely take you there and you will be seeing a surprising phenomenon first time in your life which you will capture in still and movie. The name is self explanatory, proven when your car will move uphill with the engine switched off. This will not happen to you though!
