Beautiful neo-gothic cathedral. Reputably the best example in Mexico. It’s a pleasant walk from the cathedral Guadalajara. Lovely square in front. Even though it says closed on Saturday, it was open to look in.

Marina Vallarta operated by Bay View Grand, is considered a prime location marina located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco. Marina Vallarta offers all our guests excellent customer service, 354 slips up to 160´, pump out services, power, water, oil disposal, dry dock, Internet Wi-Fi which is the best in the region, fuel station in the entrance channel, hotels, restaurants, bars, and much more, all these just 3 minutes away from the International airport and 10 minutes from Puerto Vallarta downtown.

We stayed at the Mayan Hotel in the marina which is on the Pacific Ocean beach. After a very short walk to the Marina, you will be very impressed with all of the gorgeous sail boats and yachts, as well as the restaurants and shops. The restaurants range from some at very low prices to other white tablecloth establishments with fine dining menus. Easy to spend a few hours in this area every day.

Malecon de Chapala

A pleasantly clean malecon where tourists and locals spend lots of time especialy on weekends. Shop in the many stalls for clothing, trinkets, souvenirs, eats, the infamous charales. Known as the fishing are, beautiful fishermen statues, a nice pier and even hire a boat driver to take you out to Scorpion island or any of the islands on the lake, plus see a different perspective of al the villages dotting the shore of Lake Chapala. A Tapatios ( Guadalajarians) delight for summer vacations or weekend visits, many with summer homes, Chapala is beautiful.

Lake Chapala

Many Americans and other foreigners help make up the 20,000 people living near this picturesque lake, the country's largest inland body of water.

Reviewed By RealDS - London, United Kingdom

Prior to coming here, we didn’t know what exactly to expect. In an Uber it is jut shy of an hour from Guadalajara and it’s the closest you’ll get to a beach experience of staying in Guadalajara. I must say this is one of the most beautiful lake experiences I’ve had. There were a few Mariachi bands playing both by the lake and in a local beer garden. To add, there were some nice landmark features of which you can see in my picture illustrations. Everything in this area was inexpensive. To add there were various market stools along the beach area. The highlight of our visit here was our boat ride in the lake. It was the most perfect way to cool down at sun rise.

Playa de los Muertos

"Deadmen's Beach," named for legendary pirate raids on the nearby village, is one of the most-frequented beaches in Puerto Vallarta.

Reviewed By lorriebrooks3

The Playa Los Muertos extends to either side of the downtown pier and extends towards the Rui Cuale. This very sandy beach boasts moderately high waves to play in, beach chairs to sit and sip at, and a variety of activities including paddle boarding, kayaking, para-sailing, and, of course shopping from the beach vendors. A perfect space to spend a relaxing day before heading out for the local night life:)
