We were staying very close to Sonee Art Gallery inside Jaisalmer fort and after visiting other shops during our stay...we decided to come back here to buy a couple of paintings. It is a lovely family business and Manish prepares the miniature paintings during the hot season to have them ready when the tourists come. I loved the quality of the works and the prices were simply the best I found in Jaisalmer. I enjoyed talking with him and learning a bit more about the painting process and life in Jaisalmer. The painting will always remind me of the charm of the desert and the small streets of the fort....Thank you Manish and all the best for the future! Luca

Museum is founded by M.A. Author of Jaisalmer Folklore History and Architecture. This Museum Awarded by District Magistrate 2006, and Governor of Rajasthan on 15 August 2008 for preservation of folk Heritage. Museum displayed sea-fossil, documents of Jaisalmer state, coins, post cards, ancient manuscripts, weapons, musical instruments, leather containers of ghee.

This museum displays personal collection of artefacts from the life of people in Thar desert. It is a must visit when in Jaisalmer. Situated away from the hustle of the fort this place gives a great insight to the culture and heritage of the people living in the Thar desert of Rajasthan. Very interesting. Must visit.

Kamal is a highly skilled artist and simply a very beautiful human being. Be sure to visit him. AND be sure to purchase something because his work is exquisite. There's no pressure to buy anything but if you don't, you will regret it. Trust me.

I visited the museum and puppet show during the off-season, (46 degree heat!) and even though I was the only tourist who arrived for the show the kind staff and puppeteers very thoughtfully went ahead with the puppet show just for me! I thought that was so generous, the ticket is only 100 rupees for the interesting museum and the fun show, which is memorable with a talented musician and puppeteer. The staff were kind and keen to explain items in the museum. Many thanks for your hospitality.

Very well laid out, neat and clean, spotless clean place a typical trade mark of Indian Armed Forces, one gets transported to a different world on entering any Army establishment, as they are so well presented. This museum is show casing the history and progress made by the Indian Army over the years to become one of the most professional army in the world. There is a 15 minutes video show throwing light on the army and the way it fought successful wars against Pakistan. Number of tanks and air crafts are displayed in the lawns. There is very nice restaurant on site. I would say its a must visit for every Indian visiting this part of the country.

Art gallery inside Jaisalmer's Fort. Local painting. We paint in front of visitors, showing them the Rajasthani ways of painting and skills. We are artists from father to son and grandson, we use natural colors, from stones, vegetables, flowers.. Specialized in minature painting. You can also take a tea or coffee, and have some rest on the blanket while the artist paint his futur artwork.

I went jesalmer for explor new culture art And I find out lucky art gallery in jesalmer market and see art of Rajasthan And i find a new friend there his name is pavan Rao he is fabulous artists and nice man who explain his art and culture of Rajasthan i find a very nice painting there and buy it and start my first art collection there I really spent great time there and explor new art also

We never intended to visit the Folklore museum since it was not on our “To Do List”. It was by sheer luck that we ended up there. Founded by a national award winning teacher N.K.Sharma, the museum is a manifestation of the rich Rajasthani culture and life-style. Not too difficult to locate, the Folklore museum is situated on the right of the lane which leads to Gadisar lake. The museum houses specimens of various attires worn by different tribes and accessories used to adorn camels for special occasions, wood fossils of Akal, Henna designs and the significance of some of those designs and many more. Ideal place for people with a penchant for ethnology, not too hard on the wallet – entry fee Rs 10
