I have spent many many enjoyable hours playing poker at the Amapola poker room in Jaco, CR. The poker room has a bar, great italian restaurant (best pizza in Jaco amongst other items on a full menu) a knowledgeable and friendly staff that will go out of their way to accomodate you. The dealers are amongst the best I have ever seen and the poker room manager makes fair and accurate decisions when needed. The room has several tables that are usually active. The games are honest and the players are both friendly and provide plenty of action. I have taken a bunch of friends to play poker at the Amapola and they all have had a wonderful experience, win or lose. If you like poker, great food and an active bar, I recommend that you visit the Amapola poker room on your next visit to Costa Rica.

THE ESCAPE BUS The only Escape Room in the Central Pacific zone of Costa Rica is located in Jaco...What Are We... Exactly? What is an Escape Room? An escape room, also known as an “escape game”, is an interactive adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints, and strategic thinking to complete the objective at hand. Players are given a set time limit to solve the secret plot which is hidden within the rooms. What is an Escape Bus? We have two escape themed rooms – Lost Treasure~A Pirate Escape and the Cartel Murders~A Crime Scene Investigation! Each room is interactively centered on the story line and the rooms are built for 2-6 people. Traditionally, some escape buses are mobile – OURS IS NOT! The bus will not physically move – therefore, the only journey you will be on is the one which begins when you enter the escape room of your choice.

We really enjoyed the Escape Bus. Well done Shannon and Ken! We look forward to the new mystery in a few weeks. (Kids have done the pirate room and Santa’s Naughty List). Recommended!

Jaco is now my home! I was always a very creative person, and in 2013 I started a brand called "La Tómbola" from where I developed various projects. Since then I have been making products and services on the Pacific coast!

Stayed Dec 2020- The place was fantastic. A friend and I book a two bed room suite and we were up graded when we arrived to a huge 3 bedroom suite. We stayed for six days. It was beautifully appointed suite with a grand room facing the ocean- Lovely. The room service was top notch, they gave us extra towels and keep our suite spotless, accommodated our every need. The bar and restaurant were also excellent, food was delicious, drinks were generous, great portions and fairly priced - made it difficult to go into town and eat else where when at the hotel there was such excellent quality, variety, and value with an ocean view. The front desk made all our reservations for day trips and transportation - it was exactly the the same price as in town with the added connivence and security of having an established local provider set it up for you. Frankly great hotel experiences are most often about the staff and the Cocal is no exception - it was the servers, maids and front desk that made this place a stand out - the people were outstanding. I am a seasoned traveler and I had a great here and will most certainly return,. Perfect hotel for gentleman seeking upscale accommodations with a safe and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend

The only arcade in the Costa Rican Pacific right in the heart of Jaco! Enjoy everyday our classic games such as TRON Pinball by Stern, Pac-Man Arcade Party Classics, glow-in-the-dark Dynamo air-hockey table and Tornado foosball table, as well as our Fast & Furious Super Cars driving simulators and Terminator Salvation shooting game. We also have XBOX 360 consoles with Kinect and JVC touchscreens with dozens of games for ages 3 to 99! Have FUN!
