Castillo de Iznajar (Iznajar Castle)

We popped into the village for a look around as we were spending the weekend nearby. The village looks impressive from afar, with the caste at the top, as you would expect, and the Reservoir down below.
There's not a great deal to see in the village and you need strong legs to walk up to the castle, but once there, there are some great views of the nearby countryside.

Pretty patio, service was excellent and the home made desserts are really delicious. The tapas was ok, rustic but won't have you going back for seconds

Parroquia de Santiago Apostol

Reviewed By BennyMalaga - Malaga, Spain

The Church of Santiago Apostol is located at the highest part of the town and the views from it are very good. According to history, this church was designed by the architect Hernan Ruiz el Joven and construction took place between 1547 and 1638. The style of the church is Renaissance and the ground plan follows the Latin Cross. The main altarpiece is gilded and calls attention for its beauty, being a Baroque design that was built in the 18th century by Pedro Roldan. On one side of the church there is a very large statue of the Crucified Christ with the figures of the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene beside it.
The priest was very friendly and opened all the lights for us to see the interior better.

Casa de las Columnas

The only thing you can see is the facade because the house cannot be entered. This is located in the most important street of the town. One can see in the facade the coat of arms of the Salazar family. There is an interesting wrought iron grill in the center.

Hidropedales Valdearenas

Reviewed By Jorge F

Seguro!!!!!

Paraje de Valdearenas

Reviewed By littledos14 - Cheltenham, United Kingdom

Great lakeside beach with lovely lake for swimming or kayaking or pedaloing! We tried it all! Not crowded or touristy. Park in the car park or on the roaf under the trees right next to the beach and its a 3min walk to the shore. Hire kayaks or pedalos for 10euro. A man sells water and fizzy cans from a fridge but there are 2 cafes near the car park to dine in.
Take shade as there is none.
Brilliant day out.
The info centre opens at 5.30if you want to learn more about the flooding of the lake and the history/wildlife etc.
