Beautiful, quiet, calm and not overfull with tourists! Cannot wait to go again....for longer! We has taken the journey from Lake Garda to here to stay overnight... a sort of mini break within a break....next time we shall stay longer....it is a DELIGHTFUL Lake!

Torbiere del Sebino, literally the peatbogs of Sebino, are large mass of wetland close to the South shore of Lake Iseo.
In the middle of this natural reserve there is shallow lake cut up by dikes.
The best choice is to walk on one of these dikes and admire the swans floating between water lilies and try to catch sight of a turtle or other creatures.
There are 3 entrances to the reservation:
1) The North Entrance is closest to the Iseo lake and is located at a roundabout on the outskirts of the Iseo town. Close to this entrance there is the natural reservation visitor center, that was closed at the time of our visit. Locate a pathway on a North-South dike dividing the waters and go admire the swans.
2) The Southeast entrance is on the Terrace of the St. Pietro in Lamosa church on the outskirts of Provaglio d'Iseo village. There is a parking place near the church.
Proceed northward on a path near the highway then descend the steps and proceed on an East-West dike that provides a large view to the shallow lake and its wildlife.
3) The Southwest entrance.
You have to pay a small fee at any one of these gates to visit the reservation.
In between these 3 entrances there is a long, boring pathway bordering the fences and the highways surrounding the reservation, but isolated from the main water-body by trees and think vegetation.

Ho pensato di fare un regalo per il compleanno di mio marito. Sorpresa assolutamente gradita! quattro pazzi amici scatenati che si sono divertiti un mondo gustando vini ottimi con taglieri di affettati in abbondanza e una visita interessante alla cantina sia internamente che all'esterno.
La proprietaria Francesca gentilissima e cordiale ....sicuramente da rifare

We popped in and asked if we could do a tasting as we wanted to buy franciacorta. We had just had lunch at Due Colombe (a Michelin restaurant) so we were definitely dressed decently.
Three people were at reception and said they could not help us as we must do a tour. The next tour (in English) was only available two days later. We asked if we could pay and just do a tasting and were told no.
We are both great wine lovers and have a large collection from around the world. We have never been turned away at a winery before. As you can imagine we bought a substantial amount of Franciacorta elsewhere and also avoided Berlucchi during our stay!
Sorry Berlucchi, train your staff a little better as this is bad for marketing!

The 'historic centre' is the village called Peschiera Maraglio that is the main village on this small island. The views from the boat are indeed nice and the village looks picturesque and quaint with plenty of Mediterranean trees and a lively lake shore.
Off the boat the village is nice but not beautiful, not particularly well maintained, with few tiny tourist shops and a good number of cafes and restaurants,
Tourist singage is appallingly poor, the village is tiny and the lake shore is lively as there nothing else to do or see.
Plus on very busy weekend days getting here and out of here can be slightly challenging with long waits and unreliable services.
Disappointing.

The La Montina estate was founded in Franciacorta in 1987 by three brothers, Vittorio, Gian Carlo and Alberto Bozza. My father Gian Carlo and two uncles Vittorio and Alberto come from the countryside and are imbued with its agricultural traditions. Their passion for the land and for wine making was born out of these traditions and has been a part of their lives since childhood. Why? Because their Father-my grandfather Fioravante Antonio (nicknamed Fiore) - had also worked in the vines and produced red wine. I remember his rough hands, stained red like every vineyard worker, the color pigments absorbed from hours of handling the berries.

We came to visit the Tenuta in August. We were given an extensive tour of the premises, starting with the outside areas: vineyard, pressing area, courtyard. We then saw the massive underground cellar where the wine is fermented and stored. We finished with a tasting of the amazing sparkling wines.
All in all, it was a lovely visit, and I can heartily recommend it to anyone interested in wine.

I am an unorganized traveler, on a Mission to find a nice bottle of sparkling wine for a newly married couple. I biked from my b&b today and found this nice place, I wish I had purchased a tour... So I showed up at the gate and they actually let me in. Very sweet staff, all of them. Very nice wines, all of them. I think I was quite lucky to get this chance, the grounds that I saw, even without a tour, were beautiful. I like a slightly different taste then what I believe was their specialty (since I do not speak italian I was not set up with a fluent English speaker but he did great!) but I found something I liked easily, hopefully the newlyweds like it, too.

beautifull view during whole way, passing through tiny oldfashined villages, well marked, easily accessible by train, small parts of routs are accessible by wheelchairs

E' un massiccio edificio fortificato, caratterizzato da un'elegante loggia, di recente restaurazione. Già appartenente alla famiglia Oldofredi, nel 1429 fu donato dalla Repubblica veneta al conte di Carmagnola, in cambio dei servizi resi. E' di proprietà privata e visitabile solo su prenotazione.

Barone Pizzini is a winery in Franciacorta and it’s the first to produce Franciacorta from organic grapes. The cellar was built according to eco-friendly architectural standards. The vineyards cover a total surface area of 47 hectares. The cellar tour follows a raised route that takes you through all the production stages; it continues to a room 10 m below ground level, where you find the barrique cellar and ends up with a wine tasting.

We booked a tour of the vineyards and cellars and were very impressed with the professional and informative tour which explained the history as well as the modern organic methods.
Even though Barone Pizzini is an old winery, their new facilities are modern and state of the art.
The subsequent tasting included a platter of sliced meats and cheese. I was allowed to try extra wines at a charge, which also meant I bought a greater selection of wines than at other wineries.
