Eucalyptus Distillery Museum

In the Loddon Valley town of Inglewood – the heart of Eucalyptus country - you’ll find a cellar door experience with a difference. The Eucalyptus Distillery Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history, production and uses of Australia’s first indigenous export – eucalyptus oil. This interactive tourist attraction tells the story of Australia’s eucalyptus industry and its unique links with the region through historical artefacts, photographs, demonstrations and multi-media displays. It boasts a working model distillery where visitors can see eucalyptus leaves being made into ‘liquid gold’. Visitors can also sniff test different species. Eucalyptus Polybractea, or Blue Mallee, is native to the region and yields a distinctive strong aroma and medicinal properties. Visitors can also do a walking tour of the historic Old Jones’ Distillery which is preserved onsite. Strolling through the distillery artefacts is truly like stepping back in time.
