What to do and see in Hvar, Dalmatia: The Best Gear Rentals

‘Izi Rent’ in Hvar Town exceeded our expectations for customer service. We travel full-time and in many situations we are treated a just another ‘tourist’ and the business wants to up-sell their goods simply to make money. We walk away from those types. And we walk away from the hustler types with their ‘sales pitch’ which is usually 99% fake. But...in this case we were treated with a smile, kindness, friendly service and the price quoted the day before WAS the price charged. No gimmicks, no BS! My husband and I had been out for an early morning walk in the neighborhood where Izi has their rental business (near their home). I took a photo of the business sign and of the scooters as they looked nice. We own two 150cc Piaggio Vespa scooters back home in California and are fully licensed for actual motorcycles so when we rent, which we do all over the world, we are interested in nice, newer, larger cc scooters. I was happy to see Izi has Piaggio brand 125cc scooters in their fleet. Later in the day, we were in old town and happened to met Izi near Konzum Market. We told him we wanted to rent the 125cc scooters (which our California drivers license would allow in Croatia). He verbally quoted us a price and we agreed to rent the next day. We didn’t set an exact time but that was no problem. We arrived at their business and was greeted by Alinka, the most FRIENDLY and FUN woman we have encountered in awhile. She simply made the rental easy and actually entertaining! She’s very knowledgeable about her home island so we were given expert advice on routes and things to do along with a nice map (we had rented scooters on Hvar before but that was way back in 2006 so obviously a lot has changed!). Rental contract was straight forward, credit card deposit taken which is standard, and our agreed price was paid in cash. We were fitted with helmets to be sure we were comfortable, Alinka made sure we had her phone number in case of any issues and off we went with her waving and smiling to help send us off for a fun day. We rented the two scooters for the day, filled the gas tank before return and returned them easily back to the same location which was walking distance to our stay. The Piaggio scooters were very new. Very nice with a lot of power and all automatic. We had a marvelous time exploring the ENTIRE island. I can definitely recommend Izi Rent! We had such a positive experience that we will be renting the same scooters one more time before we leave Hvar!
