Bridge Street Theatre

I had the pleasure of doing Lanie Robertson's one woman show, Woman Before a Glass, at Bridge St. in September of 2018. What a marvelous place to work at! John created a set that more than rivaled the set I had when it played in London, and both John and Steven treated me like a queen. From the stage-manager to my dresser everyone took such good care of me that I felt totally supported - which I think is one of the reasons the work at Bridge st. is so good - they are theatrically savvy, kind and they value good theatre. They naturally treat their actors with the greatest respect; consequently we want to do the best job we can for them and for their audiences. I totally enjoyed the whole experience - being a guest in their home, performing , and being a part of the after theatre talk backs. Bridge St. represents the best that theatre has to offer.

What an idyllic venue for a dance performance! I was fortunate enough to attend the Vanaver Caravan's, "Into the Light" during this solstice season. The venue was ideal. The space was intimate, clean, and tastefully done. There was not a bad seat in the house. The grounds were beautiful, architecture impeccable and a wonderful space all around. I look forward to attending performances at the Kaatsbaan throughout the year, so that I can explore the grounds, perhaps have a picnic and a stroll, not to mention, enjoy the theatre itself!

County Players Falls Theatre

County Players was born in 1958. Now, more than half a century later, we are proud to present our 59th season. During our lifetime, we have presented over 200 productions and have served thousands of theatregoers who continue to reward our efforts with their loyal attendance. Clearly, they share our belief that we provide excellent theatre. In 1977, we acquired the old Academy Theatre in the Village of Wappingers Falls, and through countless hours of volunteer efforts, we have turned a crumbling relic into a living theatre – The County Players Falls Theatre. We paid off our mortgage, continue to make improvements to our building, and still manage to keep our prices at an affordable level. Our promise for the future is to continue on the path of fiscal responsibility, theatrical improvement, and entertainment! To delight, educate, and challenge the community and to nurture creative expression, through theatre and the performing arts of the highest quality. County Players is currently not wheelchair accessible. There is no staff to assist with a lift. There is a short flight of stairs from the street into the lobby and two small flights of stairs from the lobby into the theatre.

My Mother (71), my Grandmother (92), my Daughter (15) and I (43), wanted to Celebrate my Birthday in a fun and different way while staying local, because my Grandmother has a difficult time sitting in the car for a long time. Normally my Daughter and I are Broadway bound for special occasions so we weren't anticipating much more than some nice family time together. However, we were all SOOOO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by the caliber of acting, choice of Plays and the extremely comfortable intimate venue that we felt equally as entertained and pleased as if we had made one of our NYC trips to an actual Broadway Show... and all for such a reasonable price and the ease of it being practically right in our own "back yard". The performance had us literally crying, laughing, holding our breath and warming our hearts as if we ourselves were in the "experience". And then, to top it off, we walked over across the parking lot and enjoyed a delicious and eloquent meal at this charming little restaurant with outdoor tables looking over the picturesque mountains. Although, it was too chilly to utilize the outdoor dining, we found the inside just as quaint yet contemporary as one of our favorite City Eateries. We were all so pleased (and surprised at the Theater's comfortable seating for my 92 year old Grandmother to enjoy the entire show without any back complaints that usually come up), that we decided to make it a monthly tradition. We all STRONGLY RECOMMEND everyone to come and experience for yourselves what we believe is now one of New Paltz's and the Hudson Valley's Local Treasures!

My wife and I and another couple went to the beetles imitation concert. Not 4 but 5 stars. What a show. In the larger of the two theaters. Very comfortable seats and lotsa legroom. Sit to the right. Closer to the exits and bathrooms. We parked below in the garage and the lift takes you right to the theater for a mere $5. Excellent acoustics and the theater being not too big is intimate. Check the website for schedule of event. I’ve been to the Doors tribute band and Felix Cavaleri of the rascals. Great night out and reasonably priced. Go!!!
