Hubei (Chinese: 湖北; pinyin: Húběi) is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the Central China region. The name of the province means "north of the lake", referring to its position north of Dongting Lake. You can cover the museum in about an hour and is well worth the visit especially the open ancient tomb with a body so well preserved the skin and internal organs are all still there. The gift shop has many interesting things for sale.

This attraction was an optional side excursion from our Yangtze River Cruise...for an extra fee. Although it was interesting, the Tribe of the Three Gorges was more akin to a nice nature walk and an opportunity to take a few outdoor shots. All the pre-printed colorful brochures promoted the venue as "the scenic spot" with facilities to accommodate large groups for dining, meetings and overnight lodging. Most everything about the attraction was staged for the benefit of visitors. Our guess is that they are trying to market it into an expensive tourist destination. Since most all of the wonderful villages along the Yangtze were destroyed by the flooding caused by the Three Gorges Dam, this "scenic spot" was created to try to replicate some of the wonderful history which was lost. Compared to what we experienced 30 years ago along the Yangtze, the Tribe of the Three Gorges paled and would have been worth a pass.

I hiked up the western trail of Wudang Mountain with a large group of adults and children. It was extremely dangerous with many sheer drops of ten to twenty metres and very slippery and narrow paths. Many people slipped and fell. There were hundreds of steep stairs leading to the Daisy Monastery built some 600 years ago. Breathtaking views at the very top at almost 5,000 feet, often shrouded in fog, a welcome respite from the oppressive summer heat. There is a cable car from the bottom of the mountain which costs 170 CNY return or about $25 USD. This is called a sacred mountain, however it could well be renamed Plastic Garbage Mountain, owing to the thousands of pieces of litter strewn throughout the forest, which really spoiled the beauty and the magic of this place. Nevertheless, I would still recommend it. If you do go, please pick up some trash and leave it in better condition than when you first came. Thanks!

This is an amazingly beautiful Grand Canyon, some parts of which remind me of the stone forest outside of Kunming, and other beautiful Mountains and mountain walkways in China. Great views can be had all along the 488-meter long Precipice plank road which was completed in 2016 (after a 20-month construction period ) and also from the Enshi Grand Canyon Passenger Cableway, with its 61 cable cars spread along its 1,641-metre length.
It is quite incredible how pine and other trees can grow on the sides and tops of the Mountains. It is very surprising that there is enough soil for them to flourish.
Nature built a lot of artwork into the Enshi Grand Canyon stone tiles and mountain rocks. They are extremely beautiful.
Walking through the Grand Canyon of Enshi "Cloud and Dragon", it feels like I'm enjoying the air conditioning in the crevice.
The Enshi Grand Canyon is a Five-A-class tourist attraction in China. It has a total length of 108 kilometres.

The main drawback of this park is the difficulty to get to it. We needed to boat for 3 hours from Yichang then took the bus forever.
Unfortunately the weather was terrible. It rained all the time and it was fogging. You obviously can't blame the park for this but it sure took away from the experience. We don't have a single good photo to show for our trip except a few close-ups of some rhododendrons. The only animals that was saw were in cages, that took a grand total of 5 minutes. We ended up spending 90% of our time on transportation and 10% seeing things.
I guess it has great potential but as is often the case in this type of park in China, everything is well organized with paved roads, etc....

A very impressive place, very clean and well maintained. It is a few miles walk but you can also hire a bicycle very cheap. There is also a service with a tour guide on a golf car. you need at least 3 to 4 hours to walk the entire wall but you can do it in 1 hour with the bicycle enjoying the different views around the wall.
My recommendation is to make the visit in the afternoon, after sunset, all the wall lights are on and you will enjoy the best views.

Jingzhou is a great city with a lot of history. The city has preserved and restored its city walls and towers and this gives a feel of yesteryear and keeps the history of its early origins. Although a tourist attraction, the shops are not overly touristy and the shop owners and locals are only too willing to assist you.
Jingzhou is well worth a stopover to see the walls, the Gardens and museums

This was an excursion whilst on the Yangtze River cruise. We took a ferry under the Badong Yangtze bridge. From here we saw a hanging coffin and many limestone rock faces. After a while we boarded a smaller boat that was steered and rowed by five boatsmen. It was very picturesque. Highly recommended!

The key to visiting Wuhan in general is the time of the year. The main Wuhan University campus is most famous for cherry blossoms in the spring. The old buildings that make up the central area of the campus are really beautiful and they make quite a picture when the blossoms are out. The only issue is that it isn't a very well kept secret so you can expect to have other people in the background of your photos more often than not. The campus in general is really beautiful and there are some great cafes that are dotted along some of the main campus bus routes so that you can stop off and take in the sights. As the campus borders Dong Hu (East Lake) you can exit the campus and take a really nice stroll along the lake. Recently they have improved the walkways around the lake so that they are safe and relaxing.

From the dam to the gorges to the pandas,this journey is a once in a lifetime. The ship is comfortable but not up to the standards of the bigger cruise ships. We were on the Goddess. It was fine. Beds are very hard. Got a bit ill feeling one day but was fine the next day. The Dam is a wonder. I woke up in the night with the sound of the boat being moved along the locks. Fascinating. The gorges were breathtaking. I could watch the scenery every day, very relaxing. The steps were good and the prize was viewing the pandas. We were on a Nexus Holiday tour. It was good. We are not used to taking tours but this was a good way to see China. Worth the ride.
