I visit the library regularly for the latest in books, movies, and great book sales that occur twice a month. The staff is awesome. Very professional and helpful. When my grandson was younger we went to the kids area often. The area has computers for kids, books, movies, and a comfortable area for kids to sit and read. They also sponsor lectures and programs that cover a multitude of interests and ages. It is a wonderful asset to our community.

Historic Howell Theater

Reviewed By zopple2010 - Pinckney, United States

A strength of the Howell Historic Theater is the wide variety of movies it offers. In addition to the new releases available at most other theaters, the Howell Historic Theater also shows limited release movies and older classics. I have attended a sing along version of "The Greatest Showmen", several full length anime films including "Mary and the Witch's Flower", cult classics like "Donny Darko" as well as older masterpieces like Alfred Hitchcock's original "Psycho", which I was happy to see for my first time in an actual movie theater in 2018. Every February, this theater shows all the Oscar nominated shorts in the Animation, Live Action and Documentary categories. I watched them all marathon-style one Saturday, but showings of each type are available at different times. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy these works and have an opinion about them on Oscar night. The owner, Tyler, is usually selling tickets and concessions before shows. He is a film lover and wants to make sure everyone enjoys their time at the movies.

Eternity Brewing

Reviewed By GrandpaJoeG - Plainwell, United States

If you don’t enjoy craft beers or locally produced wines, then Eternity Brewing is not the place for you. If you’re like my wife and me and enjoy experiencing new and unique flavors, you’re missing a great opportunity if you don’t give EB a try. There were 15 beer selections and 6 wines from the local Main Street Winery available the night we were there. Reasonably priced beer and wine flights give you the opportunity to taste and compare before you settle on your favorite. Will you enjoy all of them? Probably not. I certainly didn’t, but the ones I liked were excellent. Most important (to me, at least) was the fact that I was experiencing a beer that was unique to Eternity Brewing in Howell, and available no where else. That’s what craft beers are all about! The wines were excellent, too, especially the Chardonnay. Others have reported that the brewery is located in a strip mall. I say, “So what?” What difference could that possibly make? It also doesn’t have ambiance – or, so some say. I say, the (alleged) lack of ambiance IS the ambiance. We found the “ambiance” simple and delightful. Admittedly, their offering of non-alcoholic item (i.e., food) is severely limited, but they allow (and encourage) their patrons to bring their own food. They are certainly not the only craft brewery in Michigan to do this. Inconvenient? Perhaps, but the beer and wine selections are worth it. Finally, as an aside because it certainly doesn’t affect the taste of the beer, the folks running Eternity Brewery deserve special recognition for their over-the-top creativity in naming their beers. Well done ladies and gentlemen!
