Houma (/ˈhoʊmə/ HOH-mə) is the largest city in and the parish seat of Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, United States and the largest principal city of the Houma–Bayou Cane–Thibodaux Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city's powers of government have been absorbed by the parish, which is now run by the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government. The population was 33,727 at the 2010 census, an increase of 1,334 over the 2000 tabulation of 32,393.

The Regional Military Museum exemplifies the Military Pride and Traditions of this area of Louisiana. From the engraved bricks of regional veterans to the personal pride of the volunteer dolcents, who lived the military histroy, military service is honored.
There is a small static exhibit of military equipment but the personal history is in the personable tours. Outstanding! This is a great regional tribute to the 1% of Americans that often made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom.
I've been visiting in Houma for the past six years and the Military Museum continues to improve each year. Take the guided tour.

visited here with my family and four did a greta small museum worth a visit in downtown Houma LA. Greta displays and information and if our in the area and have a spare 30-45 mins i would recommend stopping in by for a look and walk around.

Wasnt expecting much for S La but was pleasantly surprised by the area. Everything you could want in an are is at your fingertips. Restaurants, hotels, hospitals, shoppin, ect. Also New Orleans is only about an hour away!

See wildlife at its best. Not too long safe walking. Can't get list. But bird sanctuary alligators. Trees local plants bugs flowers. It is just enough for educational trip with fun and adventure All ages.

If you use the map function it will take you to a parking lot. However, the description states it links the Southdown Plantation with Veterans memorial which we found. Just go to the Southdown Plantation.
It is just a bridge but we did see several turtles. The plantation and the Veterans park was well worth our walk. We were able to take several pictures and spend 30 minutes of relaxing walking time on a nice summer evening.
