Herzliya (/hɜːrtsəˈliːjə/; Hebrew: הֶרְצֵלִיָּה [hɛʁtsɛliˈja]; Arabic: هرتسيليا [hɪrtsiːlja]) is an affluent city in the central coast of Israel, at the Northern part of the Tel Aviv District known for its robust start-up and entrepreneurial culture. In 2016 it had a population of 93,116. Named after Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, Herzliya covers an area of 21.6 square kilometres (8.3 sq mi). Warning: Do NOT book a tour with this company. I joined a group tour on a cruise. The cruise line changed our itinerary and Compass Travel was unable to accommodate the requested new tour date. They then told me they would refund 25% of the money we prepaid for the tour. It has been 6 weeks and the promised refund has not been received. I have sent repeated emails to the company and get no response. I have taken group tours through numerous companies; this is the first negative review I have written.

The day tour to Jerusalem and Bethlehem was very interesting. The group was quite small and we got a great overview of the history and tensions between Israel and Palestine. Amir Call Or was a great guide. I would book a tour with him again anytime. For the Bethlehem part and we also had a local guide who arranged for us to visit the tomb of Jesus without waiting in line. I highly recommend Bein Harim Tourism Services.
