For the residents of Helena, this is a treasure trove of artifacts. The museum caretaker is full of knowledge and can tell you all about each item in the museum. If you’re interested in coal mining towns, natural disasters, or even drag racing, there’s a little of everything here.

Joe Tucker Park

Reviewed By GuyEWood - Fairhope, United States

We had a wonderful time at Joe Tucker Park as we rode Segways and scooters with one of our grandchildren. The lake is serene and the grounds are well-kept. It seemed to be a popular place for families and couples, runners, cyclists, anglers, and just people out for a stroll. We will return and I find it an easy place to recommend if you're looking to spend some quality time outdoors in a comfortable setting.

Hillsboro Trail

Reviewed By SouthernLadyMom - Helena, United States

Paved trail on old train bed! Who wouldn't like a nice flat surface to "get their miles in" in a forested setting. Parking available in Hillsboro, then one can take the trail through the woods, or even back to the high school or middle school. (Parking also available there.) Obviously this trail, being paved, is not for a hiker that enjoys various terrains to hike on, but it is an easy trail to clear your head and listen to the birds! Strollers and dogs do well on the paved surface. Take a side trip to Golden Rule BBQ, a bakery, or El Tejano before heading back to your nearby home or car!
