we booked this excursion and were not disappointed. The Covered Wagon ride was about 35 min. Gives you a real eye opening account on how settlers traveled way back when. Our guides and driver were friendly and shared their knowledge of the area. It was a cool evening when we were there and blankets were provided. The dinner was served family style with plenty provided. Salmon of course, but also ribs and chicken. salad and vegetables along with dessert. Ice tea, hot tea and coffee provided. Food servers were courteous. Good illumination, ADA accessible Restrooms were outside port a potty type, The dining room was clean but the cabin was rustic.

This is an amazing thing to do. Courtney and Bryan were just amazing. Truly good people who really love their animals and what they do. The dogs were so friendly and treated so well. They were all so smart and trained amazingly. The sledding itself is an experience like none I've had. It's just so beautiful out there. Just at peace with wilderness. I suspect this experience may some day make us home owners in Alaska. Thank you so much for such a great day.

Holy Mary of Guadalupe Catholic Church

Holy Mary of Guadalupe is the Catholic Church located in Healy, Alaska, providing religious services to the local communities of Denali and Tri-Valley.

Very friendly small church. Local parishioners made us feel very welcome. Since the local priest had medical problems, a visiting retired priest conducted the service which worked out fine. It's always nice to meet locals away from the tourist traps.

Denali Visitor Center

Reviewed By work-to-travelMI - Grand Rapids, Michigan

Compared to other NP and state centers this one disappointed us. We visited in September and the front entrance was torn up, so access to the bathrooms was challenging, so you had to go through the back entrance and up the stairs and they were not well marked. The rangers seemed overworked and appeared to have end of season fatigue. Our British acquaintance from the Denali Explorer Cruise Train had the most embarrassing experience: They went on a guided hike with a ranger and got lost, so the group of hikers took the initiative and found the way back to the visitor center for this ranger in the rain.

On the bright side: The Tourism Information Center downtown Fairbanks is amazing!

Wonderful experience. Guides were great and made it super fun. Everything felt very safe and the equipment was high quality. If you are a frequent zipper then you might find these are a little shorter and not as high as "extreme" zipping; however they were still worth the amazing views.

Our family of 7 (children aged 14,12,11,9,5) went on the 2 hour Scenic Wilderness Raft Tour on Aug 14, 2017. They were very efficient getting us checked-in and into our dry suits. Quickly got us via bus to the drop-in point. Thorough safety instructions given. The raft had some beautiful scenery with periodic class II to mild class III rapids. Our guide was very good at steering us for maximum "splashage" in the rapids. The scenery was beautiful. Outside of the rapids, he allowed my wife and I a chance to row and steer the boat. Very personable and kind guide.

The two negatives were the rafting did get a little old after awhile (for myself and several of the older children). No wildlife seen. Slower pace. I do recognize that we were restricted from a more adventuresome ride due to the age of our children. The other negative was the cost of the company photo of us on the raft. It was a very nice photo, but cost an extra $25 for one photo or $40 for both (they took 2 different ones). After spending $530 for a 2 hour trip for our family of 7, it just seemed tacky not to include the photo as part of the trip.

We rented a side by side and had fun on the trails. Its not just driving down a road, so it's a little adventurous, but most people should be able to handle it. The tour guides were great; very knowledgeable and pleasant. The machines were in good shape and the scenery was beautiful. A meal was included and it was excellent as well.
