Our family really enjoyed the entire experience!! From the excellent food, to the musicians, hula dancers, and the fire dancers, we enjoyed the entire show!! As someone who was able to bring his family together for this trip after not being close for the last 2-3 years, the speech at the end about family, love, and the importance of those ideas in the Hawaiian culture, it was especially meaningful!! Thank you all!!!

After attending a big production luau and fire show at a prominent Hotel 2 days before this local family-run presentation was so much more authentic and creative and personal then I could have imagined. Don't be fooled by the modest surroundings . I would highly recommend that anyone looking for authenticity and presentation true to the culture, attend this wonderful show. The lead storyteller, was engaging and funny as well as informative. My friends and I agree we would would definitely go back for an encore!

If you're looking for an authentic, interactive, fun, family Luau with the BEST food, Toa is the one. Its also the best value. We received flower Leis, admission to Waimea Valley Gardens ( for the day), free easy parking, interactive lessons on weaving, pom pom making, how to open coconuts, taro bundles, food demonstrations, cultural education, three drinks each (not watered down), better than restaurant food, desserts, kava ceremony, gifts and top notch authenticate entertainment . I've been to the other larger Luaus on the island that left me feeling like just one person in a large crowd. With the Toa Luau, they only host a small number of guest , who immediately become family. I've been lucky enough to have visited the islands over 10 times, and this stands out as one of those memorable moments. Mahalo!

From the greeting just past the gate to the last farewell (a hui hou), Dave and his team put on a world class showcase that was as much entertaining as it was personal. The food was delicious, the setting unmatched, and the entertainment a combination of intimate, funny, graceful, and intense. My family had never experienced a luau before. I am so glad that their first left them with smiles plastered on their faces. There's something for everyone whether it's myriad plant life, traditional Hawaiian dancing, an amazing sunset, bowling, spear throwing, macadamia nuts, or the friendly staff. This is not just a Luau, it is an aptly named experience not to be missed. I would do this again and again and highly recommend the Nutridge Experience.

Old Lahaina Luau

Old Lahaina Luau takes great pride in presenting an authentic Hawaiian Luau. An evening of traditional Hawaiian cuisine, music, cultural dances and demonstrations. Guests will appreciate a genuine reflection of Hawaii's rich history while enjoying an ocean view and sunset.

Make a reservation for this luau a few months in advance to ensure you get a seat. This is a large luau but there is plenty of space to keep you from feeling crowded. Seats are assigned and you can choose table seating or traditional seating on the grass at a community table which is what we did. You get an up close view of the luau. The whole setting is gorgeous with spectacular views of the ocean and sunset. The luau show is stunning. The dancers tell the story of Hawaii, it’s roots and history. The hula dancing is fantastic as is the passionate storytelling. If you’re on Maui, this is THE luau to go to!

Great experience for couples and families. Open at 5 PM, visitors can take a tram or walk through the gardens prior to the informative and delightful imu ceremony. The food/drinks were great and unlimited. Smith Family musicians provided music during the dinner. The hourlong show started at 8 PM and combined a fascinating combination of delightful experiences. I have been to a few luau's. This one at Koloa Plantation was tops. It had a classy, stylish feel. The view to the stage was great anywhere in the room - unlike many luaus. The food was excellent. I would have liked more veggies, as my vegetarian niece was a bit pressed to have a tasty meal, but the meats were excellent. Since the show is the other half of why one attends - I must say it was wonderful. Presented a bit more like a play or stage production, the story line was interesting, the costumes and lighting wonderful and the fire dancing (fire poi) was over the top. The fire portion which was about 10 minutes, really made the show stand out. The hula was more limited and less authentic overall, but it was a great show!

Haleo Luau

The Hāleo Luau is a family-friendly evening that celebrates the history of the ahupua’a (land area) called Keauhou and the heart of those who came from this land area. From the birth of Kamehameha III to the surfing stories of He’eia Bay, the dancers and musicians of Haleo Luau take you on a journey through a very special time in Hawaii’s history. Learn about the battle of Kuamo’o and how Kamehameha III bridged the gap of ancient treasures and traditions, as he brought the people of his kingdom into a “new era” in the islands. Meet the luau dancers before the show to participate in traditional Hawaiian games and activities while you “talk story” with our performers and learn more about the language and culture of Hawai’i. Live dinner music serenades guests as they enjoy a delicious feast and open bar. And… just as the sun is setting over Keauhou Bay the Hāleo Luau begins.

Don’t do the “luau buffet” - we got 1 free drink ($10 for each drink after) and cold food, dry pork and potatoes, and salmon salad is just chopped tomato with fish juice...
