Hauz Khas village was known in the medieval period for the amazing buildings built around a reservoir and drew a large congregation of Islamic scholars and students to the Madrasa for Islamic education. Today, some of India's most prestigious institutes are situated in the neighborhood, including the Indian Institute of Technology, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. The village itself retains its old-world charm, enhanced by well-manicured green parks planted with ornamental trees all around with walk ways, and surrounded by gentrified market and residential complexes which have sprung up around the old village. The reservoir itself has been reduced in size and well landscaped with water fountains. The village structure that existed in the medieval period was modernized in mid-1980s, projecting a quiet, upscale identity that attracts tourists from all parts of the world.

This is an amazing place with a beautiful lake, ancient historical 13th century fort, plenty of places to walk, a deer Park, lots of greenery, street food sellers and so on. Hauz khas talk was built by the sultan's of Delhi about 700 years ago. This lake is now maintained by Delhi municipality and converted to a park and complex. The fort is just next to it. It's located in hauz khas village. Entry to the fort needs an archeological survey ticket rupees 20, park entry is free. It's a nice place to spend with family and have a nice picnic.

This complex consists of a number of beautiful buildings built by the emperor's of the tughlaq and other dynasties in Delhi around 13th century, along with the lake that gives hauz khas its name. It's located at the end of hauz khas village. Entry is rupees 20 but one has to pay online using the ASI website, by scanning the QR code. No cash is accepted so be prepared for that. The madarsa consists of a number of buildings, cells for students, running of a mosque and so on, in beautiful info Islamic architecture. It's spread over multiple floors, reachable by stairs. There is also tomb of the empire firoz shah tughlaq. The tomb is nicely decorated with inscriptions and largely intact. It's a nice place to visit with friends and learn some of the history of Delhi.
