Trinity Hill Winery

We welcome visitors to our cellar door, located at the winery in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels wine region. Originally a working part of the winery, the cellar door is an impressive space with 5 metre-high ceilings and a great view of our white barrel hall through a huge sliding glass door. Here you can purchase from our full range of award winning wines and a wide selection is open for tasting. You can even pick up a bottle or two of something special – wines only retailed through the cellar door – or take home a souvenir of your visit from our quality branded merchandise. Our lovely gardens and expansive lawn make the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic – you can make up your own platter from our selection of delicious produce. In the summer we often have live music and hot food available at weekends, just check the events section of our website. The cellar door team are a knowledgeable and friendly bunch who will guide you through our wines and answer your questions. They might even have a bottle of something “not on the list” for you to try, especially at weekends. In the summer(October – Easter), we are open 7 days a week for sales and tasting (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday 10.00am – 5.00pmWinter (After Easter – September) we're open Wednesday through Saturday 11.00am – 4.00pm We do ask that larger groups, mini-bus groups and tours book in with us in advance. Tasting charges apply.

Te Mata Peak is simply stunning. I've driven to the peak several times and it's a great experience to take in the wider Hawkes Bay. If you drive right to the top then it's suitable for people with impaired mobility although they need to be able to walk up a short steep gradient for the best views from the trig.

The moment you turn into the driveway and drive through the gates you know you are in for something special. Beautiful building with inside booths looking out over to Te Mata Peak or outside in the tranquil herb garden. We booked a tasting and sat outside. Tasting delicious and informative by friendly staff. We then went for a look around the grounds which are truely amazing - immaculately maintained and walking though the grape vines was memorising with the Hills as a backdrop, This is a must visit if you are visiting Hawkes Bay. Accommodation is also available here.

Great water park. I recommend bringing lunch, getting there when they open and spending the day. There are water slides, as well as dry land activities (mini golf, jungle jeeps, kids village). Great for all ages. And reasonably priced too.

What a fantatsic market. So much to see and eat!! From breads, cheeses, fruits, veges, pastries, coffees, meats, preserves, plants - everything and more!! There were a couple of singers entertaining the crowd, people with blankets having picnics - a really amazing vibe. Such a fantastic way to spend the morning. A must see for all visiting the area. As a travelling party of three we booked last minute for the following day at 11am. The tour was beyond expectations and Lauren our tour guide provided us with a personal, informative and professional tour of all aspects of wine making at the winery. Culminating in an excellent wine tasting experience. Lauren demonstrated great passion, knowledge and enthusiasm regarding the wines and we look forward to hearing about Lauren gaining the recognition she deserves in the wine making industry. The cured meat and cheese platter in the cafe is a must. Thank you for a great experience.

Pekapeka Wetlands locates in SH2 so you would surely pass it if you drive between Wellington and Napier. It is a great point to stop in the way. Comparing to some other spots, it has a big sign and easy to find. It is not too big but nice enough for a walk. you can see quite a lot of birds other than the plants and wetlands. I must say it is more beautiful than I expected. If we had more time, I would explore more inside. Worth to stop there for a lovely walk if the weather is good!
