I’m not a museum person, but after reading reviews decided we should pop in and have a look. We caught the train from Arcachon to Gujan, the museum is about 5min walk from the train station on the Port Larros. It Is only a small museum but I was quite surprised and thoroughly enjoyed our time walking around learning about the special place that Arcachon Bay is for the Oyster Industry. An hour to read and learn and watch the film will cover everything. We wandered around ourselves through the displays, which all have English. An English speaking guide came and explained for 5mins and answered any questions. The film is really informative and maybe would be best to watch and visit before you visit to Cap Ferret and the areas around the bay. I’m extremely glad we took the time to visit and learn what a special place the waters of Arcachon are and how farming oysters work in this area.
