We planned this stop to break up our drive through Nebraska and are so glad we stopped! The shrine is visible from the road and well worth the short detour over a gravel road. The structure is beautiful and so peaceful. Recommend this stop for anyone of any denomination.

I drove all the way from Kansas City Missouri to come and visit Valas. This was the best decision I could have ever made! It's like a giant Halloween theme park! There are 50 attractions so you definitely will have to come back to see them all. I like that there is so much to do, and that there is so much detail into everything. Definitely a great time for the entire family!

The expanded and fully renovated Schramm Education Center is open! The state-of-the-art Schramm Education Center allows visitors to learn about Nebraska’s aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems through unique, interactive exhibits. Additionally, visitors can access the ponds, nature trails and historic fish hatchery at Schramm Park, located directly east of the facility. The Schramm Education Center features: Newly renovated and expanded aquariums featuring Nebraska’s natural aquatic habitats – cool water streams, rivers, reservoirs and farm ponds. Six smaller tanks focusing on some of Nebraska’s smaller, lesser-known fish species. Seventeen live animal tanks featuring Nebraska’s reptile and amphibians. Lots of stores. Had all the major brands we were looking for. Almost every store was having huge sales that lasted all weekend for black Friday.

We packed a picnic lunch and ate at one of the many picnic tables. There was also a fish hatchery that our kids loved walking around. We took our kids on the longer loop hike with our toddler in a backpack and enjoyed a nice, shady hike. Small fee to get in or admission is included with a Nebraska state parks pass.
