What a pleasant surprise!! We came for the tour which took about 25 minutes. Our guide answered all of our questions, showed us the calves- one only a week old!- then took us into the milking parlor to explain the process. We watched them packaging curds then went back out to watch the actual milking. You can sample and buy their cheeses, meat (poor male cows) or ice cream. Great experience and the cheeses are delicious !!!

DeMoulin Museum in Greenville is one of the most special, unique places I've ever been (And I've visited a lot of small, small town museums). The museum preserves the memorabilia and products manufactured for over a hundred years by the DeMoulin Bros factory in town. It honors the employees' memories and stories. The factory founders started out making wacky popular initiation devices for fraternal lodge organizations and ended up designing and sewing costumes and uniforms for the same plus marching bands and graduation regalia. And the factory is still going strong with its band uniform division, a big town employer!
At the museum, I particularly like the turn of the last century Photography (the lead DeMoulin brother Ed actually invented some camera tricks!), the family history stories, and the unusual factory office memos and communications produced among the more usual day-to-day business of manufacturing and marketing. Lodges were very appreciative of the products and were interested in having the most crazy and absurd devices to attract membership.
This brings us to THE GOATS! Now, I've never myself ridden Winkadink the goat (and admitting this publicly may summon my doom), but judging by the action photographs of happy riders, it's great fun combined with minimal danger. The DeMoulin Museum is attempting to collect a specimen of each of the goats that were sold and the collection is so close to completion now. Un-restored Ferris Wheel goat greets you at the door and his friends can be found farther inside with collapsing chairs and squirting boxes. Get your picture taken as part of a catalog page or riding the goat! It's free!

This museum is a delightful little place opened in 1999. 4 rooms of a century-old former home display permanent and seasonal exhibits dedicated to the history, people, and culture of Greenville, Illinois and Bond County. In the front parlor, learn about Lincoln's visit to the city and admire a box piano and small wood burning stove associated with Almira College and Greenville College. In the east room, find displays on the city's industry and business (mines, gloves, steel balls, railroad, scoreboards, autos, post office) and an early X-ray machine. Plus rotating exhibits honor the NSDAR, War of 1812, Hill's Fort, a featured Bond County veteran, advertising pieces, architecture examples, and other recent acquisitions. In the west room, explore all things Civil War such as maps, weapons, letters home, tin types, a field desk, and bullets found stuck in trees decades after the conflict. The back room houses a scale model of the Pet Milk Factory once bustling in Greenville producing evaporated and condensed milk, diet drinks, and multitudes of other products. Outside on the grounds you can see decommissioned grade school bells and mill stones.
Handicapped accessible with a ramp (in the rear under the carport) and everything is on the main floor.
The museum is free but donations are appreciated. Sign the guestbook and purchase a history book, vintage postcard, or surplus Greenville Bicentennial merchandise (the city turned 200 in 2015!). The building can accommodate groups of up to 20 or 30 comfortably if you spread out into all the rooms. Call ahead a few days to schedule a guided tour from one of the extremely knowledgeable Historical Society members.

There is no way to describe what it feels like to go skydiving! It can only be experienced and the best way to experience it is at Gateway Skydiving Center! My husband and I went with two other friends and we had the time of our lives! Arnel and Blake are the greatest instructors; they made our dive even more fun/memorable with their enthusiasm and outgoing personalities. It’s a fun, scenic and incomparable activity from start to finish that you’ll have to experience for yourself.

If it wasn't for Dr. Donald Hallmark, a researcher at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois, we might not be aware of sculptor Richard W. Bock and his marvelous collection that has been displayed in the historic Almira College House at 215 East College Avenue on the Greenville College campus since 1972. The collection includes more than 300 drawings, documents and photographs and over 300 bronze and plaster sculptures. In addition, some of Frank Lloyd Wright's work which had never before been displayed became part of the collection. Renovated in 2007, the museum has been redesigned as a more fitting home for Bock's masterpieces. The works include an outdoor sculpture, Spring. Who was Bock? He was an American sculpture and an associate of Frank Lloyd Wright who was particularly known for his sculptural decorations for architecture and military memorials. He collaborated with Wright from 1896 to 1913. After Bok's death in 1949, Dr. Hallmark learned that Bok's son and daughter had kept many of their father's works in storage. In 1972, he brought the collection to Greenville College. There are numerous personal letters in the collection written by Bok, Wright and other famous artists and architects, paintings by Harry Wallace Methven, Bok's brother-in-law, ornate gilded picture frames and wood-working tools on display.

I didn't find anything that interested me here, but they have a lot of booths. Very clean and neat. Lots of dishes if you are looking for that type of thing.
