The Texan Theater

Recently attended there. Staff was very helpful as my SO and I have food sensitivity issues and they took care of that ahead of time. Great venue to hear acts, acoustics are wonderful and so is the seating. There is also a coffee shop next door. Note that this is a historic building so ADA compliance is limited.

This was our second trip to Landon Winery in Greenville, and we found great wine and service both times. Our recent server was Jared who was knowledgeable about the wines and gracious in his service. My husband (who likes sweet) had a glass of Yellow Rose and I (who like blended red) tried their new bourbon barrel Pinot Noir. What’s truly note worthy is their cheese platters have an finer quality of cheeses than the usual winery fare. Finish it all with their Chocolate Finale and call it a winner! They have a wine club that offers 20% vs 10% for club members. Love this place!

Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum

Audie Murphy is one of my boyhood heroes. We made it a point to drive through Greenville so we could stop by this museum. While I greatly enjoyed seeing the memorabilia and exhibits about him they are only a small part of this museum. The Cotton Museum is interesting. Much of the museum covered local history. I liked the way they portrayed the 1920s. They had an area that was built like shop fronts. You pressed a button and the first shop lit up and verbally described what everything was, what it was used for and how much it cost. Then the next shop would light up and do the same. They had shops for lady’s clothing, a beauty parlor, a drug store and others. Very well done.
