The upper city tower on the boulevard dates from 1448. Here was once a city gate - the upper city gate of Grafenhainichens, which was closed in the evening. The guards had their quarters in the tower. The square tower also served temporarily as a city prison.

A cultural highlight in the Düben Heath is the international wood sculpture competition "Art with Chainsaws", which takes place annually on the last weekend in July. On two days in the otherwise idyllic nature park, the chainsaws crackle on the sculpture meadow on the stele path in the heath village of Tornau. Imposing wooden figures are created from massive tree trunks.

The town hall, a simple half-timbered building from the years 1695 - 1699. After the destruction by the Swedes in the Thirty Years' War, the new building became necessary. The administrative headquarters of the city of Grafenhainichen is located in the town hall today. In front of the town hall, on the market square, the "Fountain of the Elements" was inaugurated in 1996.
