Our cruise brought us to the port of Piraeus, on exiting the docks we were approached by a very enthusiastic and persistent cab driver, he convinced the 8 of us that his cab tour was not to be missed and was better than any crowded hop on hop off bus! Little did we know it was the best decision we could have made! He introduced himself as Dinos, we crossed the busy road and waiting on the other side was his cab, together with his sister Mary and her cab. The two of them took us all round Athens with stops to shop, to see and photograph the Acropolis, the Modern Olympic Stadium, changing of the Guard at the Presidential Mansion, the various temples and panoramic views of the city to name but a few and then a final stop at a Greek Taverna for us to quench our thirsts! Both Dinos & Mary are very knowledgeable, sharing their stories of ancient and modern history and they were willing to take us anywhere we wanted to go - as strangers in town we were happy to be led! After joining hop on hop off bus tours in Sicily & Malta this was a real easy & comfortable way of doing the tour of Athens, with air conditioning as well! I would highly recommend seeking out these 2 lovely people for a personal cab tour when you're in Piraeus!
