Makorori Beach

Reviewed By TWgo - Wellington, New Zealand

Every morning, all year round, surfers gather here around sunrise to catch the first rays and the first waves of the new day. Even for those of us who drive past here often, we never grow tired of the stunning view looking out over the sea.

We offer a personalised ride through the beautiful New Zealand countryside. The ride takes you up to one of the higher points in Gisborne where the views can be enjoyed with a leisurely lunch. Ride back to the homestead and relax in the tranquillity of Waikereru. This is a chance to really unwind and enjoy an evening accompanied by local food and wine. We also offer multi-day rides by arrangement.

Mahia Peninsula

This was one of my favourite places to visit while growing up. My family would go swimming and fishing here, for walks around the rock pools, shell collecting at Mahunga beach, and fish n chips at Mahia Beach. I love seeing the bach's with their characteristics.

Beautiful reserve. Not far out of town either. Three track options depending on what you want to do (wheelchair/pram option if you’ve got one with you). Takes about 40-60mins in total if you want to do all three. Great for a hot day as you’re in the cool shade of the trees the whole time.
