Chateau Laniote

Chateau Laniote has been in the same family for almost two centuries. Arnaud de la Filolie, assisted by his oenologist wife, Florence Ribereau-Gayon has been in charge since 1989. The vineyard spread over 12 acres at the North-West of Saint-Emilion. The tour consists in visiting the cellars: vatcellar, storage room, barrels cellar, watching a little video about vinifications and tasting the wine. Guided tours by appointment.

This place was wonderful, I went there with some friends and we had an amazing time, the visit is guided by the owner itself and he really makes you feel welcomed with some humor since the beggining. You can learn about the whole process of making a bottle of wine (don't hesitate to ask some questions!) and later on you can learn to taste a good wine. Honestly it was really entertaining visit, you will not regret it

We have visited many wineries around the world but this has definitely been the most interesting. AJ is an excellent host and her tour is pleasant, fun and she shares so much detail and knowledge on the steps that are involved in the production of such fine wine. Madame Roskam is truly lucky to have a daughter in law like AJ! The tour will leave a wonderful memory of Saint Emilion.

We visited the Naked Vigneron yesterday for a birthday celebration, and what a celebration it was. We received the warmest welcome from David, had a wander round the grounds and then sat down to one of the most memorable lunches ever. The setting is gorgeous, shady and cool. The food was amazing, each course accompanied by Naked Vigneron wines which you could buy to take home if you wanted. Three vegetarians were catered for superbly which was very welcome. David's enthusiasm and energy about his vines, and Amanda's culinary skills made this a wonderful experience. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Chateau Pichon Baron

Reviewed By KADsue - Bridgend, United Kingdom

I have been a fan of this wine for many years so this year returning from the south we made a detour to visit the Chateau. The location is superb and it provides the opportunity to drive through so many familiar wines. However, the work to present this wine maker was top quality. The Chateau and the surrounding gardens were picturesque. The best is saved for the person tour that was central to the visit. The welcome we received from the young lady who introduced us to the history, vines and the wine-making of Pichon Baron was first class and she so understood someone who had waiting so long to make this visit. I am not sure how many people will make use of these comments but if you stumble across Pichon Baron please stop off, you will not be disappointed.
