Ganapatipule Beach

Reviewed By Prasanna1965 - Kuwait, Al Kuwayt, Kuwait

This is one of the famous beach on Indian western coast. It is located near Ratnagiri. It also has ancient temple of ‘Lord Ganesha’, which is visited by millions of devotees every year. Beach is excellent. It is usually very crowded. It is usually not crowded in rainy season. But, it rains heavily here during monsoon. There are plenty of hotels in & around this place, where you can stay. Besides, there are plenty of local eateries, where you can get veg & non veg food. Overall, it is a nice place to visit with friends & families. It is preferred to have your own or rented private vehicle than to use public transport, to visit this place.

Prachin Konkan is an exhibition depicting life in villages of Konkan centuries ago. It shows the 12 Balutedars & their respective profession. It showcases how they lived & earn livelihood. The best part of the museum is that its a guided tour for a better understanding. The tour takes about an hour & its a must see attraction when in Ganpatipule.
It also has a shop which displays local made items like toys & other artifacts at reasonable rates. There's a very nice restaurant which offers traditional Maharashtrian dishes like Thalipeeth, Kanda Bhaji, Misal etc. Their speciality is Ukdiche Modak which is a must have!

Second best and long beach in Ganpatipule. Malgund beach offers less crowd and beauty to tourist. No such water sports activity like Ganpatipule beach. But one can enjoy the beach fullest.

Areopagus - Japanese Day Spa

Reviewed By Mohsina A

My friends and I have been going to Konkan each year since 2010. We have stayed at Abhishek Beach Resort since the last two years and never been disappointed. This year we stayed at ABR the week of July 4th, 2015.
Upon arrival until departure, we were welcomed by every staff member with a smile and a desire to help us in any request we had. But this time we were pleasantly surprised that they had a spa as an addition.
The scent of Areopagus Spa was very relaxing, and the ambience is breath taking. The cleanness of the spa was perfect which is very important for me. The lighting was enough to be soothing and not make us stumble. The spa staff were extremely courteous and cheerful.
The masseuse asked us multiple times to know if I was comfortable or if the pressure was too much. I had opted for a full body massage which had a bath and steam at the end. I loved every bit of it and so did my friends who opted for different massages.
Keep it up ABR! You’ve given us one more reason to come back!

Magic Garden

The newly opened Magic Garden, opposite to the vastly popular Prachin Konkan, is the latest attraction among the tourist. The garden offers four forms of magical bliss. What makes it even more appealing is that the gates are open till 10 p.m. So, you can visit the garden in the late evening too when most of the popular tourist spots turn dark. The garden opens at 8 a.m.

Reviewed By PankajShende - Mumbai, India

This is a garden developed as a fun spot just bang opposite Prachin Konkan Museum. It is called as magic garden but it is really about 4 shows- magic show, horror show, mirror maze and 3D show. Nothing great one would say but if you have kids they will enjoy. The ticket is bit costly more aimed at tourists. Take your own call but must say theme is not bad and something like this is required as tourists have different interests.

There are only very few exhibits around 8-9 and are not good copies of the original. It seems the wax exhibits have been built by taking the photos. There is also a shop where you can buy souvenirs and konkan specialties.
