Los Boliches

Reviewed By Holidaygranny2013 - Horsham, United Kingdom

I love love love Los Boliches. I stay her for three weeks in Feb/ March every year. It’s safe, clean, and easy to get to from AGP on the train. The paseo is great for a jog or a more leisurely walk at any time of the day. My favourite time is early morning, watching the sun come up when the fishing boats are just going in. Usually I have great weather, but this year was a bit mixed, but I missed the snow at home so what’s not to like.
From the Castillo in Fuengirola to the end of the paseo at Carvajal there are dozens of lovely beach restaurants, and hundreds more in Los Boliches and in Fuengirola.
If you rent a car it’s a great jumping off point for Granada Córdoba and Sevilla and there are buses from Fuengirola to Marbella Estapona Mijas and Ronda. A drive up to the lakes at El Chorro takes you though some lovely towns and villages, and the train goes into Malaga Centro and from Malaga main station you can take the AVE to Madrid.
I have visited Los Boliches in every month except July and August when it’s too hot for me. Give it a go , I’m sure you’ll love it. The beach is beautiful and clean and Los Boliches is much quieter than Fuengirola.

This is really a nicely laid out zoo. A couple of the compounds seemed too small for the animals which is sad but overall it is very clean and the walkways are easily managed for all fitness levels. The animal show was excellent and well...MoreThanks Thank you for your comments!

Although the tour itself is great I was shocked at lack of respect for other road users. The driver seemed to think everyone else's should get out of their way! Total lack of courtesy for other road users. Bad image for locals and visitors alike.

Plaza Constitucion

Reviewed By Paul B - Maastricht, The Netherlands

That Plaza Constitucion is probably the main squsre in Fuengirola's center.
In my opinion, the square is just average because of 1. The trafiic, including entrance/exit of the underground car park and 2. The disassociatied architecture of the buildings around the square (that replaced the original monumental houses).
The square is still 'average', because of the charming parish church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and the little park with the music kiosk in the middle.
Like a damaged jewel, some parts are still beautiful to look at.
Around the square, you'll find several shops, bars and restaurants.

This is a tiny beautiful church carved in the rock with an impressive treasury and the altar. No photos are allowed inside. Very atmospheric place and beautiful views from the church garden; it reminded me the church of “Madonna Della Rocca” in Taormina, Sicily.
There is a lovely ceramic shop right across the church.
