Take the Taino Beach ferry over to the market. A small cost for a quicker trip to Lucaya Marketplace. A cab ride there will take about 10 minutes, where the ferry ride is only 3 min. 5 min. tops.

Bahamian Brewery

Great activity for a rainy day. Went during the week so both the bottling and canning lines were running and you could see all the steps. The brewery is 11 years old and runs under a German Brewmaster. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. At the end of the tour you get to taste 5-6 beers on draft and then sit and enjoy a few more cups just because its good and you can only get it in the Bahamas. My husband loved the Stout, my family and I liked the 66 steps and Bushcrack. No IPAs (yeah!). Well worth the trip if you like to tour breweries.

Went here as part of a tour, went to Gold Rock beach first which is heaven on earth, we weren't happy to be leaving to come here but were pleasantly surprised, the water is calm, clear and shallow, you can walk out to the sand bank, excellent beach for kids, there's also the Banana Bay restaurant for snacks, drinks and facilities, a truly beautiful place.

Garden of the Groves

Twelve-acre garden full of tropical plants and animals: one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island.

Reviewed By LynnCheverie - Yellowknife, Canada

I visited the gardens today and spent 3 hours there. The place is spectacular! Sit down , relax and watch the birds and butterflies, visit the chapel, meditate on a bench in the serenity of flowing water and lush vegetation or sit by the pond and watch the turtles, fish and ducklings glide through the water. There is even a really cute outdoor cafe that serves up great tasting meals and cool beverages. My stress melted away in a few short hours. Thoroughly enjoyed!!!

We had an awesome time here! It was completely unplanned and ended up being one of our favorite port days. We rode the banana boat and bought the unlimited drink package! Jamal was super helpful and a lot of fun! Definitely recommend this as a chill spot for the day.

We had a great time in Freeport at the Xanadu. Met a lot of locals and hired our taxi driver we met at port to be our tour guide. I cant wait to go back again. We heard the Xanadu Hotel is no longer the beautiful hotel it once was. I think it is abandoned. The beach was superb!
