Anne Springs Close Greenway

Nestled amid beautiful lakes and hardwood forests, the Anne Springs Close Greenway is a natural preserve more than twice the size of Central Park, minutes south of Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC. Its 2,100 acres serve as a natural buffer from urban development and provide a wide open space for countless activities – from hiking, biking and horseback riding to picnics, kayaking and more. The land has ties to the Catawba Indians and the Civil War and has been permanently preserved for public use. The Greenway contains native plants and animals, historic buildings, a 36-mile network of trails, and facilities for weddings and other special events. As a non-profit organization, it depends on memberships, program fees, as well as private donations to support annual operations. Main entrances include Lake Haigler, Dairy Barn, Adventure Road and the Complex, all of which provide additional information and trail maps.

Springfield Golf Club

Located just minutes from uptown Charlotte, North Carolina's largest metropolitan area, Springfield Golf Club in Fort Mill, SC, offers a picturesque and testing tract of holes that will challenge all levels of golfing ability.

Reviewed By PoppyGPS - Charlotte, United States

My friend and I played Springfield GC for the first time yesterday and we were delighted with our experience. A cloudy Tuesday so the course was not busy. We played in 4 hours but we were in no hurry and even stopped for an awesome chili dog after nine holes. Although the greens had been recently dressed with fine sand, it didn't seem to adversely affect our play. The layout is tight and demanding but the golfer's aid card described helpful tips and strategies to navigate the course. The course conditions were perfect in the fairway and around the greens. Any ball off the fairway was often in deep trouble. Some areas were designated environmental areas where golfers were prohibited, with good reason. Springfield touts great electric carts, plenty of on-course water coolers, ballwashers on every hole, yardage plaques on the tees.Use the extra key that comes with your cart to gain access to the pristine restrooms on the course. We can't wait to play Springfield again soon.

Upper Room Chapel

Reviewed By mas11068 - Kiawah Island, United States

Upper Room Chapel in Fort Mill, South Carolina should be on a list of historic places as it is definitely a unique and "must see" place to visit. It is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking and peaceful buildings and properties I've ever visited. It is modeled after The Upper Room in Jerusalem, Israel where The Last Supper was held. There is absolutely NO charge to visit, NOR does anyone there ask you to donate monies as another review erroneously and mistakenly suggested. It is quite the contrary as they stress that the building and property are open to those who seek solace and wish to pray, meditate or just stroll the grounds and walk along the "Walk of Faith" which has beautiful red granite stones along the walk with scriptures engraved. The property is wooded and peaceful and Sugar Creek winds along the side. The building itself is truly breathtaking and unique. Volunteers staff the building and are available to pray with you if you wish, or you may sit and pray alone if you prefer or simply visit and explore. Definitely a "must see" visit for anyone visiting the Charlotte area.
