Initially I thought that a couple of hours would be enough but with the demonstrations at the different workshops of ancient crafts (the different forges and the forge hammer worked by an old water turbine, bread making and clog shaping etc), it is easy to spend several hours here.
Just beware, when my wife and I were there, only French was spoken VERY rapidly but clearly by the various craft demonstrators and it is worthwhile to understand what is said to get the full message.
The word "SABOTAGE" for instance allegedly comes from the clog making machinery which could be stopped and even wrecked by putting a "sabot" (clog) in the works.
Rooms also exist showing French life in earlier times including clothing and items in the home.
Outside is some old farm machinery and horse wheeled transport.
Definitely worth a visit even if your French knowledge is limited - however less happy with the on-site restaurant.

Journey back to the days of chivalry ! From the heights of its rocky crag, Foix castle with its three towers and soaring walls offers exceptional views of the Pyrenees. Built in the year one thousand, it was originally a military fortress before being transformed into the home of the illustrious Counts of Foix such as Gaston Fébus, author of the 'Livre de la Chasse' (Book of the Hunt) among other works, and Henri IV who became King of France. It now houses the Ariège département museum: the bed of Henri IV is on display. The castle's various rooms are dedicated to the art of building in the Middle Ages, the history of the castle and of the Counts of Foix, as well as temporary Exhibitions. Compared with other chateaux in the area, there's a lot more reconstructed here so that may not be to everyone's taste. Parts of the towers are given over to some good displays with a nice interactive of an illustrated manuscript plus a useful interactive on Andorra, explaining the link between the two. Not crowded at all.

We explored Foix with the primary goal of visiting the chateau. Stumbling upon the Church of Saint Volusien was simply lagniappe. It suffered serious damage during religious wars, and has encountered a series of damaging restorations. It is worth a quick visit.

Driving to Foix we decided to have a wander off the beaten track, so to speak, and headed out into the countryside to visit these falls. The journey does make you travel some interesting road and through some delightful villages, and Roquefort-les-Cascades itself is a charming Hamlet / Village very rural and quiet.
We found the falls, however seeing that the area had not seen rain for a few months, the one thing lacking at the falls was water.
Bizarrely I found this fascinating, you can plainly see where the water falls but on my visit you could see what the water normally hides. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to see how smooth the water courses were, and the formations as made by the normally flowing water. Even when dry the falls deserve respect, I slipped on the smooth rock and manage to slide into what must have been the pool of a spring. Only I can get wet at a dry waterfall !!
The falls must be fabulous when in full flow or frozen, worth visiting if you're in the area.

An impressive Dam built in the 1980's at 1500m near the Andorran border. Take the D8 south from Auzat through some twisty roads. Overall the condition of the road is excellent as maintenance work continues to be undertaken at the Dam and so is kept in good working order. The views are tremendous and well worth a trip. Very much off the usual tourist trail and was pretty much deserted when we got there.

Piscine toute récente => tout est super : c'est fonctionnel, propre, avec de multiples espaces.. et notamment les jeux d'eau en extérieur pour les enfants en bas age
Grande et belle piscine extérieure (ne nécessitant pas de bonnet contrairement aux espaces intérieurs), offrant de la verdure pour se reposer entre 2 bains
Tarif raisonnable pour les prestations
