Full Throttle Rentals

We made an impromptu stop in Florence and discovered the dunes. Me and my 79 YO dad went in a 2 person dune buggy and my 15 yo daughter and 17yo son (neither have there drivers licenses) drove their own quads. The scenery is amazing and worth every cent. Throw in the thrill of riding fast along the coast or attempting the massive dunes or sandy forest trails and this is better than any other activity we did in Oregon. 1st come 1st serve on the rentals so it is best to get there early or at lunch. Full Throttle did a thorough safety briefing. Highly recommend this place. We also stayed at the Lighthouse Hotel in Florence. Old family run hotel. It was clean, a bit run down but homey and obviously well loved and clean (imporatant during COVID). The owners make homemade waffles, muffins, buscuits and gravy for breakfast for their guests. We had a fantastic dinner on the patio overlooking the river at Waterfront Depot in Old Town Florence. Wish we had more time for antiquing since there were 3 or 4 promising stores in town.

We decided to rent a rzr at the last minute for our anniversary. We had an amazing time. Customer service was great and we got a BOGO hr rental as part of their COVID reopening coupon. Once we arrived for our reservation we were treated with respect and they considered our knowledge of ATV’s and knowledge of the area while still highlighting the safety issues. Three employees were great, the equipment (Polaris 2 seat Rzr) ran great and was in good condition! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Sea Lion Caves

Considered the largest sea cave in the United States, this site is where Steller sea lions and their cubs take shelter each year. Sea Lion Caves is a privately owned wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary. The Caves has been in operation since 1932 preserving and protecting the wildlife under our care. We are open 363 days a year only closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving day. Our normal hours of operation are 9 am until dusk year round. We are not a zoo and the animals are free to come and go as they please. The sea lions can usually be found at either of four locations on the property; in the Cave, in the water, at the Lookout/rockery, and on other nearby rock ledges. HOWEVER, THE SEA LIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS IN THE CAVE OR MAY BE MIGRATING OUT OF AREA - THEY ARE WILD ANIMALS AND COME AND GO AS THE PLEASE. CALL AHEAD FOR INFORMATION. Self-guided are the rule, but guided tours are available.

Torex ATV Rentals

Michael booked my reservation over the phone. He was super helpful in making sure my son and I were renting the right vehicle. A few days before I called to reschedule to a different day due to bad weather and without any hesitation they moved my reservation. When we got there there were a ton of people. Our reservation was at 2pm. Michael welcomed us right away,, got us started on our paperwork,, and gave us an overview on how to work the machine. My son (age 14) had a blast! Only recommendation would be to wear goggles or sunglasses. Getting sand in your eyes is no fun. If I do this again in the future, we definitely rent from them again!!
