For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum

When there is not a pandemic, they have wonderful programs. We have been pretty bored since we cannot go many places during this time. We go to For-Mar a couple times a week to walk the trails and enjoy nature. You may see deer, turkeys, geese, frogs, turtles, snakes chipmunks and more on your visit if you’re looking! No pets allowed. There is also a tree house that was featured on tv but once you’ve seen it a couple of times, it’s not that exciting. We go mostly to look around the pond. There are also a couple of bridges.

While some of the restaurants are a bit pricey, I love the variety of foods, arts, entertainment, and - of course - the availability of fresh produce. Only being open three days a week makes each day crowded. But I guess that adds to the liveliness of the place. I love the new space. It's a nice addition to the Downtown Flint area.

Masonic Temple

During the year, it hosts regular dinners downstairs for a nominal fee and the rest of the space is utilized throughout the year for public and private events, including club dinners, weddings/receptions, art/craft guild shows, etc. They are frequently rented out for some type of party or entertainment event, so I don't think that you have to be a member to do so. I attended a fairly large arts/crafts showcase here the weekend after Thanksgiving last year and there was plenty of space to house all of the vendors and their wares, while allowing for crowds to shop and look without knocking anything over or running into each other. It was very well run.
