Stone Money

More than likely, unless you are just here for diving, then you have come to witness the fascinating stone money of Yap. I was surprised to see so much of it scattered around the entire island. I was just expecting a couple of money banks, but these fascinating stone money pieces are everywhere. Rent a car or arrange a driver to take you around. A driver is smarter as you need permission to access private land throughout Yap. Some of the money banks are immense, with some really grand money pieces. Do your homework and read up about the money and it’s importance.

Kepirohi Waterfall

I came in Jan 2018 when it had been raining every day since Christmas I was told. This gave a very nice display of force for a waterfall that is not exceptionally high. It is reasonably near Nan Madol. The walking path varies from dirt, rock-dirt, some concrete. The walkway has a nice amount of colorful Flora. There is enough space to stop for a picnic lunch very near the falls. And there's one of the common roadside mom and pop market with food and drinks where you can buy a simple lunch and also where you pay the nominal admission fee.. The admission charge is 2-3 dollars as is common for most local attractions. Other falls like Lehn Paipohn and Sawarlap are very nice but not nearly as easily accessible and requiring a local to show the way and either very steep, or slippery or both. .
